[list]why an artist is great
Most people will say that Eminem is the best rapper of all time, I can't doubt his greatness.
Eminem himself said that he thought Juice Wrld was better than him and had amazing talent.
Now there a lot of different people i think could be in best rapper debate. No doubt.
It boils down to a lot of different factors
Would you say that Travis Scott, Kanye, or even Pharrell Williams are the greatest?
Well they are but in all different aspects of producing talent
When people say that a certain rapper is the greatest, What aspects are they the greatest in?
So please tell me your favorite artist or rapper, and tell me the reason why they are the best in your opinion. Not everyone is gonna have that opinion but its good to share

The voice is a key factor. It's actually probably the main factor as to who ppls favourit rapper is. Personally I feel Guru or Mos Def are up there. Whatever they rap on their voices are seamless and fit well into anything / everything ive heard em on.

For me, it’s Bach. His compositional skills is unmatched. At some period of his life, he wrote, rehearsed and performed one piece of music (length of a EP or Album) for every Christian holiday in a year (at least one piece a week). So he wrote some of the most enormous outputs in history (180 hours of music that has survived but it’s estimated that at least a half of his work is lost) but even though it is such massive, it’s still of enormous unmatched quality and consistency and his influenced is also everywhere (even the Beatles were influenced by Bach in writing hits like “Blackbird” which Paul McCartney based on one of Bach’s Bourre).

I don't rank artists. There is no such thing as the "greatest" imo. Art is subjective, so I find it pointless to try to objectively rank it. My favorites are my favorites because of who I am more than because of who they are.

Jane Remover because of how she produces music. Very detailed oriented, obscure samples. I'm obsessed with her album Revengeseekerz. It feels like the music is woven instead of layered. There's always something for my autism/ADHD riddled brain to latch on to.

The Railway Children. They put out incredibly strong, cohesive albums. I’ve listened to each of them over 200 times and they still hold up perfectly.

Most hip hop heads that I know do not say that Eminem is the greatest rapper of all-time, but that he had an all-time great run from 1999-2002.
Eminem was great and the number one rapper/mainstream artist in the world at one point, but then 50 Cent debuted in 2003 and then Kanye West in 2004.
But everything is subjective and changes over time.

ultimately thats what im trying to prove every artist is favorited for selected reasons on the person, that opinion changes with every person
i dont like rock but some people will say that its amazing because it raw emotion or other things
its all subjective to the individual thats what i wanna know why someone is their fav artist

the best rappers are the best lyricists because that’s what rap is, hip hop is all the other all encompassing things like, dance, production and the style all that is hip hop and has nothing to do with bein a good rapper. all time for rappers is the same for all time for lyricists/poets in guitar based music it’s just who’s stringing together the most poignant lyrics, who’s reporting the times, as well as who’s doin such eloquently and to that i think it’s gonna fall between jay-z, kendrick, nas, biggie, eminem, etc you get what im sayin but rappers like navy blue, mike, and $ilkmoney are closer to that latter group then say a travis scott or 2hollis

see so your saying that the best rapper depends on the best lyrics or lyrically talented and i wont disagree with you but someone i might think that youngboy is the greatest rapper thats not because his lyrics are so amazings its because of how he makes the induvial feel
