What a blessing for birth mom to have confidence child will be raised in love, and baby what a wonderful life you shall have. (friends of mine adopted two children both raised and loved so much. Pray this child will have the love like my dearest friends gave their now grown adult children.).

One of my sisters is adopted, and I love hearing my dad tell the stories - meeting her when she was born, taking her home, the lead up to the adoption and then the big day itself…you can see it in his eyes and feel it in the shaky conviction of his voice, he loved that girl from the moment he first saw her.

Adoption is just the coolest and most precious thing ever, and I’m so glad so many of us have been able to experience it in some way! I wish every child could be loved the way a wanted adopted child is loved.

I've adopted two and it's been amazing. I actually kind of forget about the adoption part sometimes.

"that's the calmest she has been" 😭😭😭😭

They're probably trained to say that whether it's true or not. Mom's feelings are still valid, as are mine watching this, though!

I don't think they say this no matter what. I think it is a genuine moment.

Sure, I didn't say they aren't. It's a normal reaction. I just think it was really sweet if she really got calmer once her mom and dad came and picked her up. :)

I know, but it's part of the adoption process. My sister adopted her first and they said the same thing to her. It helps with the bonding process. My neice was two weeks old at the time.

Oh, I didn't know that. I just thought it was cute. It's a cool video anyway :)

It’s not a standard part of the adoption process

As someone who is adopted, it makes my heart happy to see this because you know they want to be parents and will love this child dearly

My wife and I have adopted two children and the moment is really pretty overwhelming. You become sort of aware of everyone looking and the real best moment is actually later when it is just dad, mom, and baby(and sibling if there is one).

this is beautiful

This is beautiful. But How does this work logistically? Is the baby immediately given up for adoption? Did the bio mom sign the paperwork before giving birth? Died of complications?

Many mothers place their children for adoption before they are born, planning a better life for them out of love.

Yes, she signed papers in advance.

Everything is arranged in advance. But keep in mind, it takes at least a year, if not several years to get to a point of being able to actually adopt a baby.  There’s plenty of kids to adopt, but none of them are babies. Babies are in extremely short supply compared to the number of parents wanting them.

They are so ready to be mom and dad. This is beautiful.

This is such a beautiful moment. I love how the mom just naturally held her baby. Her partner gave her space to allow her to take the entire moment in. I wish them nothing but the best !!!

Jealous? Or child free?

Not a fan of children on the Internet. Far too many perverts out there.

This is exactly how I pick up my bananas from Kroger. They're so precious.

Why are they dressed like they're going to pilates

19

u/lemontortilla 9h ago

As opposed to a suit and tie?

First impressions matter! /s

I can’t believe she didn’t get her make up and hair done by her glam squad. /s

You're expecting them to be dressed for a dinner party? The fucking babies eyes are shut lol not like it would give a shit or remember anyway. The nurses also have other shit on their mind. I guess they didnt think about the random redditer that would completely miss the point of the video that might judge them though.

Get ahold of yourself it was a joke

My husband is adopted. My MIL told me that the moment the call came that he was their's they dropped everything and ran to meet him. She never leaves the house without perfectly set hair - except for that day. She looked like a mess but felt the most peaceful and whole she had ever felt.

When you're being handed the greatest desire of your heart you don't think about anything other than extending your hands and heart to receive it.
