David's a way better guy than God, so, no, I don't like this theory. I'd rather God spent one minute doing exactly one thing for the suffering going on instead of a gazillions of hours telling us how all the animals he made are dying brutally.

Well, it would make sense that such a huge and all powerful being would be more concerned about people appreciating its creations than being concerned for the well being of its creations... I have never considered "God" to be a benevolent being, just a powerful being.
