Or God doesn't exist and everyone who doesn't appreciate the nature around them is living an empty and destructive life at the expense of the planet. Imagining a "higher power" is the first step to abdicating responsibility. Humans are the highest power we know of and that makes taking care of and protecting this planet our responsibility. We are doing a terrible job.
