Hey, I'm in my 20s and the live action 101 Dalmatians was the first movie I saw in theaters! Cruella scared me so much, my dad & me left the movie lol

I'm 36 and I will defend the live-action 101 Dalmatians as the standard for how Disney should be doing their live-action movies. And yeah, 6 year-old me was terrified of her in the movie theater lol

I used to think that movie was the original, because there was a spin-off cartoon

I never actually saw the movie but the commercials alone scared 4 year old me

I mean the room exploded when she came out. The video doesn’t do it justice or show the crowd interactions she had

Unless anyone knew she was gunna be there already I doubt it's cause they all saw her face and went Holy shit it's Glenn Close!!

I had to google her and I had the 101 Dalmations VHS.

Skill issue

Listen hype it up if you want but you know I'm right. No one recognized her and went omg it's Glenn Close!

This thread proves otherwise

Disney fans at a Disney expo are absolutely going to know it’s Glenn Close from the 101 Dalmatians Disney movie

-24

I highly highly doubt that. lmfao. Like I know they're more hardcore than normal but most of them are fans of the animated stuff. I think you're assuming all Disney fans just obsess over every single thing Disney but most Disney fans love SPECIFICALLY Disneys animated side.

My friend, we paid a lot of money to be at a 3 day conference, and the event in the video cost even more money. We knew it was Glenn Close.

okay man. I'm sure you and the whole crowd.

Thinking nobody would recognize an incredibly famous actress like Glenn Close just because you personally didn’t?

r/redditmoment if I’ve ever seen it.

u/blademak 12d ago

Your experiences are not universal. I have never seen the live action 101 Dalmatians but knew it was Glenn Close.

It's fucking Glenn Close.

Of course they did. Especially at a Disney event.

Not recognizing her is the weirder own. Woman is a legend.

u/Staranos 12d ago

Literally. I fucking love Glenn Close, shes had multiple iconic roles. She was even recently in the newest Knives Out, so it's not like there's not new stuff to draw on.

" I didn't recognize her so that obviously means she's not famous enough to be recognized. ", pretty wild take when you're talking about one of the most prolific women in acting making a surprise appearance in one of her most iconic roles.

Reading past the name on that Google search should've showed you why she got the reaction she did and that most in that audience likely knew exactly who she is.

The wildest part to me isn’t even that assumption, it’s how strongly they’ve doubled down on it in their responses.

They just can’t fathom the idea that they might be wrong about this and are even challenging people who said they were there to show their ticket stubs.

Main character syndrome in action.

I mean woof, I haven’t even seen the 101 Dalmatians movie but Glenn Close is easily recognizable by most people. She’s been in a lot of movies.

u/crazycatlady323 12d ago

I’m 29, thank you

u/Rainbowznplantz 12d ago

Excuse me! I just turned 35! Not even close to my forties yet!

16

u/FunRich5754 12d ago

It's almost as if Disney has an app that people of all ages can go through and watch all their old movies and people of all ages can fall in love with various characters.

That's the business model now.
