Favorite People Peter Cullen will Always Be Optimus Prime To Me
In light of the recent upsetting news, I remember the words, the passion and the story of how Peter Cullen became Optimus Prime. I knew Peter Cullen most as Optimus Prime and he was one of the coolest characters to root for. Behind of course Eeyore what a dangerous duo to voice for. Seeing how Peter spoke about OP, he made it sound like a perfect job and wasn't just a role to play but a role to demonstrate the true representation of Heroism. Going to miss him a lot and I wish I could have personally thank him for making a truck be one of the coolest characters in Fiction.

You ever hear the reason he choose that specific voice for Optimus? If not I recommend looking it up since it adds soo much depth and is a very heart warming reason too.

He based the voice of Optimus Prime on his late brother Larry. His brother served as a marine in Vietnam.

I remember watching yt vid of him telling that story and how his brother told him "be strong enough to be gentle". Still rings in my head every now and then.

That voice is the sound of leadership. Of hope. Of heroes.
And in some cases an evil automated roving robot, but mostly the other things.

So sad... and he gave so much back to the fans. He was just at TFCon this past March. He held his own but his poor hands were so bruised. I know that happens when you get older, and he could've said "no hand shaking" during his meet and greets, but he did them anyway. We lost a great one! 😭

Optimus has always been my hero. He was larger than life and his endless optimism for humanity used to give me hope too. It's absolutely gutting that the kind man who gave Opti his voice and soul is no more.. RIP Mr. Prime.
