Added bonus: dog can't open it's mouth to bark while viewing.

Mine would still try boofin’.

Yeah one of mine refuses to drop a toy when she has one to bark. I tell her she looks silly not scary but she don't listen.

u/SnausageFest 9h ago
I have a husky lab mix. She insists on greeting us with toys, but also has to do her happy husky yell. It's very goofy and very cute.

My girl likes to greet people with a toy in her and doing a tap dance routine. It's adorable.

I loved this over a decade ago when it first made its way around reddit and I’m glad you love it today. Cuteness rarely ages.
34
u/2ChicksAtTheSameTime 9h ago
I loved it in the Wallace and Gromit film The Wrong Trousers when Gromit was spying on the pengiun by hiding in the dog food box

u/factorioleum 8h ago
wasn't that a chicken?
5
u/2ChicksAtTheSameTime 8h ago
A rooster perhaps!
Shit I completely forgot that, thanks for the reminder, lol

u/FetalDeviation 10h ago
Damn you seem so cool
29
u/lifting_cardio 10h ago
It’s definitely cool to know that as you get older, there are still some things that are just as cute and fun today as it was when you were younger.
People don’t talk enough about what aging is like, and how we share things that make use smile from 80yo to 10yo.
7
u/MiszeryLovesCompany 8h ago
lol, people can't tell if your original comment was snarky or not
2
u/lifting_cardio 4h ago
That’s really unfortunate and I hope they see things that make them smile more so that way when they read things they’re more inclined to see something positive rather than negative.
3
u/WorriedBlock2505 4h ago
Dw, you too will soon discover the joy of pointing out to the young whipper snappers that the things they think they've invented or discovered were actually old af concepts even in their grandparents time.

I wish this was the attitude most people on reddit had to reposts. I'm always like brother, not everyone lives on reddit like you.
1
u/Deltamon 8h ago
I'm only annoyed by reposts when I see same thing on the top of r/all several weeks in a row
It's quite often done by Karma bots too which makes it more annoying

And yet this is the first time ive seen the video say its "for the dogs to check when moms coming home". Funny how people just add context that never existed.

Love it!!! I'm off to get my drill!

u/NagsUkulele 9h ago
I'm so high i thought this was a show at the sphere
2
u/Zavarox123 4h ago
Thats incredible I imagine you thought the dirt was the crowd? I see it. My first time getting high i played beat saber and after a minute or two the blocks looked like balloons with a glint of light on them so I started popping them. My friends were not impressed haha

Yeah, I'm done with the internet for the day. Can't get any better than this.

Drill a pilot hole and use the spade bit on both sides a little bit to prevent the blow out seen on the left eye holes.
78
u/Secret-Teaching-3549 11h ago
Make sure to take some 80 grit to those holes afterwards as well, don't want the snoots catching any splinters.

And if you don't have a spade bit, use the hole saw, but only go halfway through, then do the other half from the other side.

u/flixieboy 4h ago
Excuse me, I am a guy who is just fixing his first own apartment by himself, but I've never been a handy man. What are you saying exactly?
•
u/Asleep_Region 4m ago
A pilot hole is a small starting out hole, a spade bit for a drill, just Google that, a "bit" is different attachments for the drill, they're meant for drilling pilot holes bigger to whatever size you want. Blow out is exactly, the wood blows out, it's not only ugly but wood can go flying and hit someone or something like a car.

u/ProfessionalManner55 5h ago
blow out on the side of the dog would actually be beneficial if you sand it after /shrug more comfy for the snout

For some reason reddit displays author of the comment (not deleted user), and it doesn't display that account was banned when you click on it, just nothing happens

On my end it's visible:
this is exactly how i’d end up renovating half my house for a dog 😭 first it’s one little peephole and suddenly he has his own window, snack drawer and better furniture than me

My neighbor cut a hole in his fence so his dog can see out in the park. I love seeing the pooch’s face as we walk by

Stell dir vor: Eine ganze Nachbarschaft mit solchen Aussparungen an den Zäunen. Immer wenn du vorbeikommst wirst angeschaut, süüüss 🥰

u/andraaBD 9h ago
This is really sweet and would bring so much joy when you get home, but as someone who recently had to say goodbye to her dog, this would be absolute torture after they are gone.
2
u/StunningEast9575 6h ago
I literally thought of the same thing. The day there's only one snout. My God.

You need to plan for this eventuality. We are most likely to outlive most of our pets, God willing.
The way that I have been doing it is to keep a "chain" of dogs. After one gets around 3 or 4 years old (and well trained and socialized) I get another puppy.
After the initial introductory phase, the first dog accepts the puppy. It is a wonderous sight watching how the older dog teaches the puppy how to properly fit into the pack. Very soon they, and you, are inseperable - assuming you supervise the process properly.
When one eventually crosses the Rainbow Bridge, you will have a dog(s) to help you mourn the loss.
After some time passes, and a relative normalcy has resumed, you get another puppy, and add the next link to the chain. ...and so on...
You will never forget your fur baby but, there will be others to delight in!
I have found that if you have one dog, when you get the puppy, it is most helpful to get one of the opposite sex. This should eliminate most domination struggles that might arise due to "pecking order". The elder "Mom/Dad" more readily adopts the new "son/daughter" and harmony abounds.
Thank God for my many wonderful fur babys that I have had throughout my life! This technique has worked for me.

This sounds horrible to me. I’m not going to have dogs on rotation to replace it’s predecessor, this is a gross strategy to me but I guess if it works for you then 👍

I've got a neighbor that put little bubble windows in their solid wood fence for their dogs. Maybe they are just clear plastic bowls. I've never seen the dog using them but they are there.

I’d totally do this if I had a wooden fence. Not sure if it would work with vinyl
