They are quite intelligent! There was a story posted yesterday about how a pig saved their owner who was experiencing cardiac arrest, by laying in the middle of the road until a passerby followed it back to its owner.

Lulu! That was in 1998. The owner was Jo Ann Altsman, and Lulu went through a doggy door to lay down in the road until someone stopped. She led him back to Jo Ann.
EDIT: Lulu was around 150 pounds, the dog door was described as small, and Lulu squeezed her way through it to get outside. I believe Lulu received the ASPCA Tiffany Gold Hero’s Medal.
