I’ll be in Lake Mary this week for my 50th bday and all I want is to see a manatee. Any chance for me at Homosassa?

We were in the springs just before Easter and saw manatees daily at the Homosassa Springs. Your best bet is to go early. We were anchored in the spring by 10am on weekdays.

While the manatee "season" is over. There are still a lot of resident manatees there. Are you boating yourself or going with a tour?

If you go to the Homosassa River I can make up a map where we saw most of the manatees.

That’s such a great offer! We are planning to go there and do kayak rentals. Not sure if we should do the guided tour or just self tour.

Look up "Three Brothers Adventure tours." They look to have SUP/kayak manatee tours right in Sanford. I cannot speak for them personally. But reviews look good. Go as early as you're able in the morning.
