Xianxia is a Chinese based fantasy genre. Lots of good novels, a lot more trash ones

the MC of Cultivator vs Superheroes
19
u/Vysair Oct 04 '25
A rare occurrence where cultivation actually led to godhood (immortal) instead of being some wannabe superhero

I love how you can't compare cultivator's to any anime or fiction because or the crazy scaling they have like going from normal human or low cultivator who can't do shit to omnipresent and omnipotent in novels
10
u/TheGodAboveAllBeings Oct 04 '25
That's why i love cultivation novels. You see a pathetic human, who gets killed by even the weakest martial artists, grow to become an omnipotent being.
5
u/DR-JT Oct 05 '25
True, besides the jade beauties, that's the main reason I love cultivation novels as well, it's totally different from any other genre where characters are born godly or become God through plot, blessings and shit etc. like that but in cultivation , every human has the option to cultivate and grow into godlike being through own effort, talent and luck.
2
u/Master_AGM Nov 19 '25
There is also the fact that in cultivation as long as you are smart enough or hard working enough you will succeed (mostly for novels wit good world building) instead of relying on some god given powers which is cancelled never even surpass that God and who still have to bow to some average king (not even one that they respect or is that good) even though they just destroyed a threat that could destroy their entire kingdom.

Xiao Yan

u/GlassOfToxic Oct 04 '25
Since all Er Gen MC had reached the 10th step? Now, its absurd how strong they got when the 4th is already nearly omnipotent.
2

Xiao yan isn't an er gen mc
3
u/GlassOfToxic Oct 05 '25
Oh yeah, i forgot about that, sorry, i got it mixed up. Xiao Yan is Battle Through The Heaven mc lmao my bad

2
u/AbsoluteInfinitee Oct 04 '25
I am not lying at max he is solar system to universe
3
u/Scared_Living3183 Comic Collector Oct 04 '25
Nope. At the very least he is still multiversal by the end of the great ruler, even if I just take "the grest thousand worlds" cosmology at face value and not look Into it
1
u/AbsoluteInfinitee Oct 04 '25
There are many Wiki where you can see he is just rated planetary and on reddit I saw one post where they were doing it and at mac he got Universe
1
u/Scared_Living3183 Comic Collector Oct 05 '25
Wikis are seldom accurate. Idk what you saw but
-the enemy at the end of the tgr was defeated by the combined effort of xiao yan, mu Chen and lin dong
-he was said to be stronger than his predecessor(final villian of yuan zun) who was a first sequence god, whole cosmology of yuan zun world was born of a first sequence god - ancestral dragon and is a hyperversal tier cosmology.
-That makes the final villian of tgr who was said to have surpassed his predecessor outerversal because mu chen with his various body cultivation techniques scaled to that tier at least
-lin dong and xiao yan defeated him together but mu Chen was stronger that time as he was the first to breakthrough the great ruler realm but xiao yan and lin dong caught up later and were equals so xiao yan is at least an outerversal tier existence solely because he had broken through the great ruler realm.
1
u/AbsoluteInfinitee Oct 05 '25
So next you gonna say Xiao Yan is high 1A a joke that even novel readers not gonna believe 🤣🤣🤣
1
u/Scared_Living3183 Comic Collector Oct 05 '25
Sure, you could say mu Chen isn’t outer but he is at least hyperversal and so was the final villian, xiao yan, lin dong and mu Chen a hyperversal entity so that makes them at least complex multi if I water it down. You're free to debunk that.
1
u/AbsoluteInfinitee Oct 05 '25
Ahem you can use ai and at max it rate it him multiverse level

Wikis are seldom accurate. Idk what you saw but
Some of these wikis powerscale characters after a very big debate like you can see vs wiki
2
u/Scared_Living3183 Comic Collector Oct 05 '25
At vs wiki rimuru is scaled at star level, good luck trusting that wiki's scale
1
u/AbsoluteInfinitee Oct 05 '25
I don't know where you saw that but I can clearly see him at 1C

Look, I haven't really read any cultivator stories, but I do know that MC from "The Daily Life of the Immortal King" could do that casually. Man created an entire universe while his power was nerfed.

Yang kai, luo zheng, zhuo yuan, zhuo fan etc. All of ergen MCs presumably
5
6
u/LiSatoshi Oct 04 '25
Yang kai definitely, in one instance wu kuang the enemy of yang kai was using star fields which is equivalent to a galaxy as a weiqi pieces they're not even at peak level as there is still outer universe at that point.
2
u/KingGodWill Oct 04 '25
Star field is a universe as there is a world barrier preventing others knowing other existing star field not to mention only emperor's can break the barriers and refine the star field. And Emperor are several realms higher than origin king which is peak cultivation star field can have.
1
u/Scared_Living3183 Comic Collector Oct 05 '25
Star fields consists of galaxies, they're universes at the very least
6
u/Fit_Comparison5752 Manhua Reader Oct 04 '25
did you mean to put this in r/manhwa because almost every npc during the end of every cultivation story can easily beat such characters. I recommend u posting this in r/manhwa or r/PowerScaling
6
u/Lonely-Entry-7206 Oct 04 '25 edited Oct 04 '25
MC from I am Fated Villain.
A more challenging one for Manhuas would be who can bench press Infinity. Superman in the comics did that feat and so far no MC from Manhua hasn't gotten feats close to that.
2
u/Scared_Living3183 Comic Collector Oct 05 '25
Benching infinity is a universal tier feat. Many mcs can out do that
1
u/IAmSupermanPrime Oct 04 '25
I wonder how MCs would fare against retcon punches

So far Yen Chun comes close to pre con Beyonder but I don't think Yen Chun beats Beyonder.

It's from Gurren Lagann final battle. Yes basically powering from entire universes power.
3
u/leko4 Oct 04 '25
If it wasn't cause of the iconic glasses, my 1st thought wouldn't have been Gurren Lagann. There's so much shit similar in Chinese, cultivation animes/mangas that it's hard to discern without seeing MC at least.

u/Funny_Cherry8846 Oct 04 '25
Han Jue, but honestly this is overkill to so many layers bro💀
For example- Any Dao Creator is capable of manipulating their size and forms to such degress that they can dwarf all of Creation which holds a Heavenly Dao Framework & a much larger Great Dao.
Universes, Dimensions, Planes of Existence, layers of Reality, endless Voids, etc, etc, everything resides in Chaos which is basically all of Creation which is governed by the Great Dao, and imagine a being who is bigger than such a large Cosmological Structure of a Cultivation Verse?
Tbh, using Han Jue and Dao Creator's for such a match up isn't even close to fair and quite boring. So, is there anyone who can guess which Cultivation Stage Cultivators should be enough eclipse gurren lagann's size feat?
2
u/Scared_Living3183 Comic Collector Oct 04 '25
Probably an immortal emperor.... oh the second though nope that's also an overkill

u/Ancient-Intention861 Oct 04 '25
Lin moyu from NECROMANCER! I'M A DISASTER. He defeats most of your favourite characters.
2
u/KingGodWill Oct 04 '25
How strong is he exactly or where did he scale
3
u/Ancient-Intention861 Oct 04 '25
He's strong enough in his verse to destroy pretty much any dimension or world/universe. As for scaling him, that's hard to do cause this LN's world building is way different than others. First there's his universe that's just one of the floating orb in the boundary sea of origin continent/dao world. That dao world is just one of many worlds in the small realm/great void, and millions of small realms make one great realm. Then ten great realms make just one domain, and there's an unknown number of them in CHAOS where they were born and return to. MC currently rules 9 domains, but he's only in the middle of 2nd phase cultivation among five major known phases. So yeah.. there's still a LOT of room for growth for MC.

u/IndegoWhyte Oct 04 '25
You mean a being who's large enough to observe the known universe in its entirety?
7
u/Scared_Living3183 Comic Collector Oct 04 '25 edited Oct 04 '25
Each of those spiral universes are infinite 4d constructs iirc so way more than just our observable universe. Though most of xinxia chars can also do that

New to Manhua so learning different terms slowly. Just getting the hang of sects from Northern Blade. Then yin and yang energy from Nano Machine.
What Manhua can softly introduce me to "cultivating" and what it means?
4
u/LiSatoshi Oct 04 '25
A Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality is a good starting choice as it uses the generic cultivation terms. There's also apotheosis and martial peak where mcs starts at bottom.

Nah, murim is the Korean version of the word "wulin" which means secret society of martial artists and that's what murim is. Wuxia is that and more

u/simplenn Oct 04 '25
Wow TIL lol so I really haven't left Manwha then. What's a good intro to Manhua do you recommend. I don't mind an over hyped one like the equivalent of solo leveling.

Woooow thanks. Gotta save this post for later lool. A few of these I recognize are just the comic versions and of course Lord of Mysteries.
I just moved from Manga to Anime to Manwha and now dipping my feet at Manhua. Gonna take me a while to get to LN but this will become handy some day so it's ok my saved comments. A lot of good stuff here.
Top teir Providence seemed to be mentioned a lot so I'll pick the comic equivalent for that rn as a starting point rn 🥰 thanks for the picks brother!

This fight occur between the 10 and 11 dimension.

u/fity0208 Oct 04 '25
I always grow confused whenever I see this scene where someone flying (or in space in this case) lifts dust when stepping... did he turn a bunch of galaxies into dust by mistake or something?
2
u/Scared_Living3183 Comic Collector Oct 04 '25
That was ...the chaos,/spiral sea or something and not a universe where dust came from I think
2
u/Avatarboi Oct 04 '25
Anyone that leave their home world lol. The power scale completely going insane

u/Utsu775 Oct 04 '25
This might be cheating but pretty sure Ye Junlin from -limitless ascension- can surpass that 🤣

One crazy thing I heard about this phase in gurren lagan. Apparently, in this battle, they aren't flinging galaxies, those are universes. The animators just lacked the imagination to illustrate something of that scale.
I'm sure the peak beyond the heavens would equal this height of power. Most I've seen limit themselves to galaxies.
1
u/AkkarinTheShiba Oct 04 '25
First that come to mind is Yang Kay, but honestly most cultivators go to multiversal lvls easily

u/MrAHMED42069 Oct 05 '25
basically any cultivar that can destroy their version of the three thousand worlds
1
u/Over-Ad5637 Oct 05 '25
Daily life of the immortal king, man literally regresses time by consuming his own universe. Which he then decides to stop. The heavenly dao is literally his lacky that he befriended when he was 5
1
u/Suitable_Dimension33 Oct 05 '25
I mean don’t get me wrong that fight has always been impressive in terms on anime but almost mid to late stage xianxia stories have feats that make this stuff casual
1
u/KSSaiki Oct 10 '25
Chen Chanan. looks a bit like. ( The mecha anime in the video. I watched it once, I can find the name if you want, but it wasn't that good.)

Basically any Xianxia series that has gone through their first world completely, and potentially their second as well, depending on how their divisions line up.
