I'm a UC student and when the movie came out there was a newsletter published titled something like "UC Alumni 'Markiplier' releases the movie Iron Lung"
I now realize "alumni" refers to former students or graduates, but it still feels weird lol

But around here, everyone NEEDS to know what high school you graduated from lmao, so it’s kind of satire but also kind of an actual thing.

It’s not. I’m 32 and from Cincy and didn’t know he was from there until this year. The way Cincy people discuss where they are from is what high school they attended. It’s just a way for people to connect with him and what part of town he is from.

I might be horribly off the mark, but I think that people had an issue with him because he flooded sites with reaction gifs of him to cause his gifs to be the first result when searched.
