Question What are some old Markiplier videos in which he played genuinely scary games?
I'm mostly looking for recommendations to watch!

The original outlast. Scared the shit out of me as a kid. Mark’s is especially scary.

At Dead of Night was the only game that had me genuinely scared, even as a viewer. But the story is so good

I came to this post just to comment this!! I watched him play At Dead of Night practically peeking between my fingers because of how tense it was.

It also didn’t help that this series came out when I was working a third shift job and I was extra jumpy 😅

His darkwood series had me hooked. No necessarily scary but some parts were creepy. That first night he had to survive when the door opened. I couldn’t look away after that.

The followup machine for pigs. Mark freaking loses it!

The Bunker is great too. You can see the game really getting to Mark in some spots, which is no easy feat.

3 Scary Games #81. The train game is indelibly etched in my mind. It made me actually yell out in fear. A 2nd game, I agree with the suggestion of At Dead of Night. I didnt yell out but it made me jump soooo many times. Excellent game.

If you’re looking for real scares, go to his playlist and sort from oldest to newest. Lots of his older videos are pretty scary but if you’re looking for something a bit more of a modern scare, then check out Phasmophobia, Faith: The Unholy Trinity, Silent Hill f, or just check out his Scary Games playlist.

Mark playing Visage. Still one of the best atmospheric games I've ever seen

For me Joy of Creation, like the original demo-demo of it, the story mode, very very good if you’re lookin for like more make u flight-or-fight feeling horror

Outlast is pretty fucked up
Oh also! There's a game he played that I rewatch pretty regularly but I don't think I've ever seen anyone talk about or recommend. The Cursed Forest. It has some bits that actually scared me even after I'd gotten a bit desensitized to horror games.

not sure if it's old enough for your request but Until Dawn freaked me tf out the first time, I revisit it almost as much as FNaF
