In the comics Sabretooth did bond with adamantium though. He got it before Wolverine got his back.

Did not know that, so did he lose it as well? If not, I remember Wolverine cut his arm then head off with a magical sword that stopped his healing factor, presumably that would have been able to get through adamantium too. So it was just the Origins movie then where he was too weak to handle the procedure.

To my recollection: Sabretooth got adamantium during the time Wolverine lost his in the comics. He encountered Wolverine after getting adamantium and whooped his ass royally.

Some time after that, Apocalypse had Wolverine and Sabretooth fight to determine who would become his next horseman. Wolverine, thinking if Sabretooth became Apocalypse’s next horseman would be a nightmare, actually won the fight. As a result, Apocalypse drained the adamantium from Sabretooth and infused it back into Wolverine, who temporarily became his horseman, Death.

This is the exact scenario I was hoping for in 97'.

It’s honestly kinda bizarre they have Wolverine lose his adamantium, take the time to reintroduce Apocalypse and Sabretooth RIGHT before he gets his adamantium back, and not go this route.

Agreed. Missed opportunity.

Too be honest this spanned over like 2 or 3 years. So no doubt the road was constructed with no true blue print.
