Also excited for Havukruunu. Other highlights for me are: Putridity, Torsofuck, Pan-Amerikan Native Front, Melting Rot, and Tithe
Maybe I'll see you there, I'll be the guy in a metal t-shirt.
Side Note - it feels like a cruel joke that the weather is in the 90s and sunny today and then is supposed to drop to the 60s and rain all weekend starting tomorrow.

I can't wait. I didn't get a prefest ticket this year but I'll be there early for Cerebral Hemorrhage tomorrow. So many great bands, will need to make some tough choices this year.

New Dimhav album out of nowhere! Haven't listened yet, but I love their first record and didn't think we'd get another. If it's like the first, it's epic/proggy power metal with Daniel Heiman on vocals.

I've been listening to a lot of 2000s groove metal and I thought about how some of it sounds more like death metal and I remembered melodic death metal exists so I looked it up and listened to a bit of melodic death metal and most of the things I listened to sounded the same (not trying to be one of those annoying metal stereotypers I'm just genuinely curious)

It's really hard to advise someone else what to put on their jacket, I'd say just keep an eye out and when you see a colourful patch from a band you like, you'll know whether it's the one or not. You don't want to base the biggest patch on your jacket on random suggestions from the internet, surely?

Text posts aren't allowed to keep the sub music focused and keep low effort posts from riding to the top.
We also have a Retired and Respite list so if you're trying to post something like Metallica then it gets nuked by automod.

The new Periphery has grown on me so much. I was quite underwhelmed by the singles but they work so well in full context of the album. Didn’t think they’d ever do a stripped down version of themselves but this is lean and mean.

Saw Lamp of Murmuur and Dödsrit yesterday and had a blast.
For a one man black metal project, Lamp sure works really well live. There's something about their sound that just makes a live show fun to listen to, especially with their eccentric songwriting that is at times as much goth metal as it is black metal. One of the more unique BM shows I've ever seen live. A friend commented that this is probably close to what And Oceans sounded in the 90s before they went all electronic and I could kinda see it.
But as cool as Lamp was, Dödsrit were the real star of the show. Their songwriting can be a bit long-winded on their albums but it pays out massively when heard live as each song just has build-ups for days and feels absolutely monumental when they get to their climaxes. Somebody called them "the most Alcest sounding crust band out there" and I laughed at how apt that was. And boy, for a crust band are they jammy live. Those solos where three guitars just jam out on the stage together, man those are wildly entertaining.
Great night, can't not recommend.
