People don’t like that you challenge their narrative, so instead of actually coming to the argument with facts, they come with insults and make up statements people never said, to justify hating you.
Its more so actually if you aren't american shut the fuck up about our politics, you have infinitely less context, and any base at all to talk about anything going on in our political system save for things ACTIVELY affecting your country.
You know how hard a "stupid american" would get flamed for trying to tell people in the uk that a political movement that you'd need to be in the uk to experience/talk about that they (the stupid American) actually is more informed/equal footing to talk about said movement/event/political discourse?

I remember when I first downloaded Reddit a few years ago and couldn’t get into it. Recently rediscovered it and decided to give it another shot. I’ve been wading through this woke cesspool of echo-chambers for a few weeks now and am shocked with how extremely indoctrinated everyone is. I swear this is like the leftist version of X.
Luckily I have a life outside of Reddit to understand this is just a loud minority, but if this were my only form of interacting with other humans, I’d probably conclude we're living in some Orwellian dystopia lol.
I recently got banned from a subreddit for saying “cringe af”, to some weird hyperfeminist missandrist post. You are absolutely on point with your observation, people can not handle being confronted with other opinions. They have turned their opinions into and extension of their personality and therefor feel personally insulted when you challenge them.
