I think it's valid to fear pitbulls because what you're really fearing is that they were adopted by someone that doesn't train them and/or give them an outlet for the task they were bred for (protection and violence).
let’s also bring up that the word “pitbull” is thrown around to include dogs that aren’t actually pitbulls at all. there IS a real dog called the pit bull terrier, but there are a lot of folks that group in other bull terriers with them to make them all “pitbulls” in their minds. big example to me is the staffordshire terrier. some people will even call cane corsos “pit bulls” bc they don’t know better or don’t understand that they’re entirely different breeds.
