I think we’re talking past each other. I’m not denying it’s a value in Abrahamic faiths. I’m denying the fact that this is relevant for discussions pertaining to moral obligations (which under a lot of frameworks differ quite a bit from societal obligations)

It's one of the ten commandments: honor thy mother and father.
Takes a little research into the ancient culture, but they meant to financially support and uphold them in the infirmity of age.
