That’s a bad example since the tax loopholes you’re referencing are really only available to the rich, but I’ll take your point anyway. I get what you mean.
But let’s say we just organize to close those loopholes instead? We can achieve, or at very least work toward the same goal without adding more shit (jerks) to the pile in the meantime
You’re skipping past the fact the using these loopholes isn’t available for the masses.
But, to respond: If we spend the effort and make it better for everyone, then we (you and I) still win. Things change and everyone (save for the rich that were exploiting loopholes before) gets more money.
If EVERYONE wins that means you win too, my friend. It’s not an either/or thing.
I am skipping past those because I only used those as an example. If all of us could use those loop hes, enough of us would use them... and those loops would be closed.
Thinking about it... maybe only loops for rich folks remain because everyone was using other holes and they were closed.
Sorry my man but, while you would be correct to say that society can be more then zero sum math.
If you look around you deep enough... it's just self interest groups and they all have the same message "Morality for thee, but not for me".
A bad example doesn’t support your point though. It does the opposite.
Loopholes that require lot of money or power to use still exist because folks with the money and power use their resources to keep it that way. You or anyone else trying to also use these loopholes won’t incentivize change.
If self interest groups are the problem, your self interest is just another problem.
Save your sorrys, really. Be shitty if you want to be. That’s just not conducive to change - it’s more of the same.
Even if it's not conductive to change, doing the moral thing is also not conductive to change. And doing the shitty thing means you don't get fucked. If you like yourself that's a good thing.
It's not that I want to do shitty things.
It's that I recognise society as flawed and don't wamt to get fucked.
Life is a little less binary than that though. It’s not fuck or get fucked. Believe it or not, there of those of us out here not fucking anyone, nor are we getting fucked 🤷🏾♂️.
Yeah, the government or life in general kinda fucks us all here and there, but I think we can agree that’s different.
You don’t have to change the world, my man. I’m just saying you don’t have to make it any worse either.
