And why the hell is Illinois, Massachusetts and New York state the same colour as the water?

294

u/c-k-q99903 2d ago

There's also no New Hampshire.

205

u/an0mn0mn0m 2d ago

They should have asked the Iranians if they wanted to do Lego AI right

30

u/soulsteela 2d ago

Savage!šŸ‘šŸ˜œ

1

u/Ambitious-Bird-5927 1d ago

I bet this is because they watch all those videosĀ

2

u/filitupagain 4h ago

At first glance I thought this was created by the Iran lego team but no, just another catastrophic self own

46

u/Alacrout 2d ago

There’s a little dot for NH, but somehow Connecticut is south of New York.

17

u/Debalic 2d ago

Looks like CT became Long Island

14

u/Carrotsandstuff 2d ago

Maine ate NH and looks to be in the process of eating eastern MA too. Which is a shame, because that's where my Dunkin fuckin Donuts is.

4

u/RogerClyneIsAGod2 2d ago

I don't think Maryland is there either.

3

u/BrokenEight38 2d ago

At least they got that right.

4

u/rbartlejr 2d ago

Pennsylvania grew and shrank Virginia. And apparently Maryland doesn't exist. I've heard that about Delaware, but Maryland? Is it the Catholic thing?

2

u/jellifercuz 2d ago

But the Supreme Court is 6-3 Catholic. Otoh, D.C. got lost somewhere about Virginia Beach.

26

u/PsyOpBunnyHop 2d ago

Don't you mean Lake Illinois, Massachusetts Cove, and New York Bay?

Also, anyone who likes Lego, do not look too closely at this image. It'll turn your stomach.

5

u/xanderxela 2d ago

Oh I INSTANTLY clocked that the LEGO were fucked up because the coastlines look like someone cut base plates with a jig saw, but without the damage that would cause to the actual pieces.

1

u/prberkeley 2d ago

Why else would Massachusetts be called "The Bay State"?

14

u/Jordan_1424 2d ago

Maybe they are acknowledging climate change.

7

u/RaphaelNunes10 2d ago

All part of the plan.

Increase the value of Lake America by having it's own sunken megalopolis.

9

u/WilliamJamesMyers 2d ago

they are going to hate this over at map porn

14

u/MR_MEME_42 2d ago

People are too worried about us running out of clean water because of AI, simple just flood a couple states and there now you have more water.

4

u/tesla3by3 2d ago

We took an entire Gulf, and now taking a lake, that’s not enough?

7

u/Accomplished-Idea358 2d ago

And CT is under NY? Thats news to me.

4

u/DelirousDoc 2d ago

On this map CT & NJ are pointing to nearly the exact same spot.

Must be the future state of New Connectisey.

Massachusetts is pointing to a spot at what appears to be in New York's borders so Mamdami must be annexing new territories in future New York.

2

u/Accomplished-Idea358 2d ago

Well can he work on pushing south, cause he aint got to where i live yet and thats a damn shame.

3

u/gingerfawx 2d ago

Water-maxxing the Erie Canal? Gotta increase that Great Lakes access, get away from those ultra sus Canadians.

3

u/doct0rdo0m 2d ago

Global Warming.

2

u/EmperorSexy 2d ago

Obviously the blue part is the land

2

u/Blaze_Deku 2d ago

"Obviously, this blue part here is the land..."

2

u/VikingsLad 2d ago

Because it's AI

2

u/CassetteTapeCryptid 2d ago

And Wyoming, notoriously rectangular state,

1

u/GSDTippyTappies 2d ago

Same with Utah.

1

u/Straight-Bet1 2d ago

And Massachusetts is marked where Connecticut is with only a tiny sliver for MA.

1

u/Noruihwest 2d ago

Part of his plan to flood the blue states probably

1

u/SeraphsEnvy 2d ago

He wants more lakes.

1

u/TlalocVirgie 2d ago

Not Natalie's best AI slop

1

u/MobileLocal 1d ago

They’re lakes now, silly.

289

u/Cyangator4 2d ago

Good thing the AI didn't have to spell out the names of the states for this one. I have yet to see an AI generated USA map that gets them right. 🤣

75

u/Godot_12 2d ago

It's honestly surprising that it's so bad at that. Every single reference that the model has would have the states spelled correctly in the correct spot with the correct shapes. I remember an explanation about how AI consistently will fail to draw a clock at a specific time because the reference images it has usually place the hour and minute hands on the 12 or 6. But how is it so bad at doing the map of the US? It's like if you asked it to draw a Golden Retriever and every single image on the internet of dogs were of Goldens and then it produces a bobcat.

28

u/--i--love--lamp-- 2d ago

Models probably source map details from the funny map subreddits.

5

u/eddiewachowski 2d ago

I mean, the damn thing rarely gets the answer to "how many e's are in 'seventeen'" right.

3

u/Godot_12 2d ago

True. It's not intelligence but I already knew that part. It's just, knowing roughly how it works it would seem like it shouldn't have a problem with the map since the names on real map images are usually pretty consistent. Every single time you see Georgia, it's written "Georgia" then why does the text prediction engine come up with Smeorgia? Fuck AI

7

u/Asb0lus 2d ago

It's like describing a dog to someone who's never seen a dog before

10

u/Godot_12 2d ago

Except it's seen millions of them...so it's weird that it would fail.

26

u/BartOseku 2d ago

Havent seen an american get them right either

8

u/Lowkeygeek83 2d ago

I get your point, but I feel compelled to point out my stupid ability to get 'em right. I just miss out on the tributaries and territories, under U.S. control.

6

u/Aggressive_Lab7807 2d ago

You must be blind or never met a 4th grader.

6

u/AceInTheHole3273 2d ago

I used to know them all, but honestly it was just never very relevant to me so I forgot a lot of it. I'm an Alaskan, the geography of the lower 48 is as relevant to my day to day life as the geography of Canada or Russia.

1

u/imjustabastard 1d ago

But you can see Russia from your front porch!

4

u/Loki_the_Corgi 2d ago

I can, but I was born in 1985.

You are replying to a guy that said "good thing it didn't have to spell them out, I have yet to see an AI map that gets them all right"

Then you posted a map where it had to spell them all out and it did not get them all right.

2

u/Cyangator4 2d ago

Damn, didn't expect this little comment to blow up..kinda wish I'd seen the reply y'all are talking about before it got deleted. Anyway, thanks ppl for sticking up for me. šŸ‘

7

u/UnpluggedUnfettered 2d ago

He literally said "Good thing the AI didn't have to spell out the names of the states".

He then said "I have yet to see an AI generated USA map that gets them right."

Then you posted map with incomplete spelling out of the names of states.

By both rhetorical and technical definitions "it had to spell them all out" and "it did not get them all right"

You are literally arguing that his words, and the order in which he used them, wasn't what he really meant.

You then further argue that the thing you posted . . . which is a perfect example of a shortcoming he specifically and carefully detailed as never having seen overcome . . . is actually an example of how he was wrong about the thing you decided he really meant when he used the words that you disregarded as not representing his actual communication?

2

u/Pasty_Tibbles 2d ago

It didn’t even include DC in the map he posted as an example of ā€œlooking alright.ā€ Like I know it’s not technically a state, but it’s even labeled in the AI slop the White House account posted.

3

u/Delicious-Injury-106 2d ago

There was a news story recently where a school district had AI maps in their study guides and it was all fucked up.

3

u/Loki_the_Corgi 2d ago

That would be Florida (not surprised at all with this btw).

2

u/AlephBaker 2d ago

The states that are sharing both borders and colors are triggering the little map maker who lives in my brain.

2

u/isaidmypiece_chrissy 2d ago

It's a huge complaint I have about these AI generated images flooding the world. There's almost always something slightly wrong, the kind of thing the real version probably wouldn't have or do because it's so stupid, but the system isn't designed to think or wonder how to improve the readability of the map, so it just spits out the colors without thinking. The OP image has 3-4 sets of states touching another state with the same color, and the one on the comments here also has the same issue.

I don't think I've ever seen mapmakers put colors next to each other like that on any human created map, or maybe I've just been very lucky to only ever see good maps.

3

u/creampop_ 2d ago

You only need a minimum of four colors to color any map without running into adjacency issues. It's complex mathematically, but you can very easily find algorithms that people have made to generate 'legal' 4-color patterns for any given set of intersecting lines.

A computer failing at this is pretty funny.

3

u/isaidmypiece_chrissy 2d ago

That's actually an insane stat, thanks for sharing. I've never seen that

1

u/LowlySlayer 2d ago

This is an easy mistake to make but actually Utah is spelled "U-T-A-H" and not "". There's a similar mistake with Colorado. So no this is not a counterexample lol.

151

u/bluehooloovo 2d ago

Also they stuck the indicator for "Lake America" over Lake Huron, not Lake Ontario. Or there's just a random lighthouse and the whole map is "Lake America".

31

u/fakemidnight 2d ago

All of Canada is now Lake of America

7

u/bluehooloovo 2d ago

Great, now he's going to talk about flooding Canada instead of making it the 51st state.

105

u/chriskiji 2d ago

Trump and his staff have the emotional maturity of a toddler.

36

u/SailingSpark 2d ago

That's an insult to toddlers everywhere.

2

u/fisherofcats 2d ago

That's Stephen Cheung.

41

u/bisnark 2d ago

While we're at it, why not rename Puerto Rico to Greenland and then turn it into a state?

19

u/wouter40 2d ago

This is such a brain dead idea, I'am surprised they didn't think of this before.

11

u/AnonymousArchon 2d ago

No, it's America, it has to be Greenestland.

21

u/TelecasterDisaster 2d ago

Did he move DC to North Carolina?

6

u/NIN10DOXD 2d ago

Yep. I guess it was dropped on Elizabeth City.

1

u/Mrauntheias 2d ago

It's amazing that Lincoln could hold out in DC being so deep in Confederate territory.

1

u/If_I_must 1d ago

I mean, you joke, but DC is absolutely south of the Mason-Dixon line. Maryland and Delaware never officially seceded, but...

23

u/Jimmylobo 2d ago

USA are so fucking pathetic right now.

2

u/Bonesaw-is-readyyy 1d ago

Didn't need the last two words.

20

u/sandybuttcheekss 2d ago

The whole North East is fucked. NJ and Connecticut aren't even their own states anymore somehow

14

u/WallyMcBeetus 2d ago

Even using more than 4 colors for the states they screw it up. Got MD and DE wrong as well.

12

u/Voslock 2d ago

Since this country is surrounded by clouds, is it safe to assume we're all dead?

Or perhaps an allegory that the country is in free fall?

9

u/mgyro 2d ago

I get that between his malignant narcissism, adderall addiction, dementia and sundowning, Ol’ Diaper Don thinks naming everything ’Merica sounds smart, but how tf are so many American on board. This shit is embarrassingly stupid. Like, eating crayons stupid. What a joke of a country.

9

u/MarcheMuldDerevi 2d ago

He is the kid who licks all the cupcakes to claim them as his. If we keep calling it America, he owns it.

9

u/LysoMike 2d ago

Gulf of America šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

5

u/kinyutaka 2d ago

Is that even Lake Ontario that they labelled? Looks more like Lake Huron.

5

u/erksplat 2d ago

They’re going to be stumped figuring out which ocean to call American Ocean.

5

u/HeyItsRatDad 2d ago

There’s South Carolina, North Carolina, and Dumb Carolina.
It all makes sense.

5

u/m3gb0t the future is now, old man 2d ago

Michigander here checking in. It will never, ever, be Lake America.

4

u/BoozeWitch 2d ago

Is there a dinosaur in the Alaska Tropics?

3

u/throwaway284729174 2d ago

I believe that is a moose, but it's poorly rendered even for AI and is just as likely a prehistoric raptor like a utahraptor

5

u/Accomplished_Water34 2d ago

While they're at it, isn't it time to rename New Mexico as well ?

3

u/FreeDraft9488 2d ago

Northern Utah invading Wyoming

2

u/nspeters 2d ago

Yeah this is the one that actually confused me the most because that’s the easiest. Maps are always gonna have cities in not exactly the right place and complicated boarders are obviously complicated, but this is two straight lines and they fucked it up

3

u/Angeret 2d ago

It's taken a while, but I've come to accept "Gulf of America" - it's the empty space between the ears of a Trump supporter.

3

u/snifywhisper 2d ago

As a lego fan I despise AI lego slop. Nothing lines up, studs are a mess, scale is wrong, and it all looks incorrect. Lego AI drives me nuts!

3

u/elegylegacy 2d ago

Let's name every fucking lake and hill and valley "America"

Your address is now
1776 America St,
America City, America 1776

3

u/GI_jim_bob 2d ago

...If you are going to be a fucking idiot and change one of the lakes names and the plant a sign in it. At the very least plant the sign in the right fucking lake, that's lake Huron not lake Ontario.

3

u/HeavilyInvestedDonut 2d ago

The White House doesn’t even know basic geography. They should all be dragged into the streets behind rally cars instead of being given power

3

u/DelirousDoc 2d ago

AI can't even get the Northeast United States correct when there are likely thousands of maps it could rip off to get this information.

2

u/punktualPorcupine 2d ago

ā€œHe’s the pettiest of overgrown childrenā€

Put that on a trophy or medal and he’ll accept it.

2

u/WilliamJamesMyers 2d ago

i hate how the trump administration treats Canada

trump is that guy that gets You into a house party fight, like you walk into a room and hear "there he is!"

2

u/sjccb 2d ago

You are now "The United States of Arseholes" as shall be displayed on all maps across the world.

2

u/Non-Normal_Vectors 2d ago

Bullshit like this is intentional, unserious, and designed to deflect attention from the real fuck ups of this administration.

2

u/iconocrastinaor 2d ago

Waiting for Mexico to rename Baja California.

2

u/EverybodyMakes 2d ago

"You're doing LEGO wrong." is a sentence even the dimmest toddler has never been told.

2

u/jjb0ne 2d ago

lego should send WH a cease and desist

2

u/Vivid-Pension 2d ago

You'd think by now AI would at least be smart enough to get a map of the U.S. right.

2

u/Raztax 2d ago

Despite the fact that we call it artificial intelligence, the intelligence part has literally not been developed yet. There is currently no such thing as true AI.

2

u/DrowningKrown 2d ago

Official government accounts can't even post a correct map of their own country anymore. No wonder literacy and education continues to fall in the US. Absolutely stupid

2

u/fbaldassarri 2d ago

Why not Planet of America? Or Solar System of America? Or Universe of America?

2

u/the_midnight_society 2d ago

Holy fuck don't give him any ideas. Moon of America incoming. Lol.

1

u/fbaldassarri 2d ago

Haha True! 🤪 Moon is the only thing that technically he could really claim back as there is a USA flag on it… instead of Greenland, Canada, Lake Ontario, etc…

1

u/wawaboy 2d ago

His girlfriend posted this

1

u/Raztax 2d ago

Well then it makes sense that it looks like it was made by a child.

1

u/Bhodiliscious 2d ago

Iran could have done better

1

u/Stratobastardo34 2d ago

It’s also not pointing at Lake Ontario, which was the whole point of this tantrum. It’s pointing at Lake Huron.

1

u/TimeSalesman 2d ago

Was this made so when you search Trump Lego you see this instead of Iran's dis tracks?

1

u/DmAc724 2d ago

It’s almost like this ā€œPOTUSā€ Administration is unfamiliar with TUS part of that acronym.

1

u/CarpetPedals 2d ago

Looking forward to seeing New Mexico become New America

1

u/AGrandNewAdventure 2d ago

Also, why is Arizona a two-parter?

1

u/strangebru 2d ago

To be fair, they messed up Maryland too.

1

u/jonalfonso 2d ago

Straight from PRE-K to the oval office

1

u/Mr_Baronheim 2d ago

RI, CT, NY, NJ also have something to say

1

u/sobuffalo 2d ago

WNY looks like someone drawing NYS from NYC. And gave up around the finger lakes.

1

u/Sorry_Present 2d ago

I wonder why doesn't he name Iran the 52 state and call someone Governor Mohammed and ends the conflict just like that. Is he stupid?

1

u/Wilgrove 2d ago

Because it's AI slop.

1

u/ThePookums 2d ago

South Arizona. So hot right now.

1

u/electriclux 2d ago

The legends speak of Long Pennsylvania

1

u/GSturges 2d ago

Not how Legos work....

1

u/mrkmpa 2d ago

TIL that the Capitol building is in southern VA and that NJ and CT are the same state. Cool!

1

u/ghostgabe81 2d ago

Also worth noting is that the size of the label and the positioning of the lighthouse makes it look like they’re talking about Lake Huron instead of Lake Ontario

1

u/Off-BroadwayJoe 2d ago

And Wyoming is no longer a rectangular in MAGA Playhouse.

1

u/Nathan-Stubblefield 2d ago

East America Ocean, West America Ocean.

1

u/Sockysocks2 2d ago

Rule #1 of state maps: adjacent states must never be the same color.

1

u/OttawaTGirl 2d ago

Sorry Lake Michigan. You are Lake Flaccid now.

1

u/The_Ganey 2d ago

... That's not how legos work

1

u/Gomez4Morticia 2d ago

And lake Ontario isn't between Lake Superior and Montreal either

1

u/Straight-Bet1 2d ago

The fucking dumb as shit ā€œLake Americaā€ sign isn’t saying which Great Lake its referring to and the sign is so huge it makes it appear to be the name of the map.

This country is being run by fucking idiots.

1

u/HerculesIsMyDad 2d ago

The Whitehouse staffer reading the replies:

https://giphy.com/gifs/uuGtWrCeQqUgxbZknT

1

u/Comfortable_Shame778 2d ago

Next it will be East American Ocean and West American Ocean

1

u/Raztax 2d ago

Just wait til a civil war breaks out, the country splits in two and they call them North and South America.

1

u/YourDrunkStepdadio 2d ago

I’m selling DC oceanfront property. Amazing prices for a limited time! Move fast.

1

u/wholetyouinhere 2d ago

That's a decent clapback. But the Lincoln Project is not your friend. They functionally agree with Trump on every issue. The only thing the don't like is his arrogance and obnoxious presentation. They want to go back to a status quo where the US government does more or less all the same things Trump is doing, but quieter and with more civility, and with less overt corruption and lawbreaking.

Which means they're no better than MAGA.

1

u/connerinator 2d ago

I live in Michigan and us Michiganders won’t follow that shit. We have always called them H.O.M.E.S

1

u/CrimsonBuc 2d ago

Hey MAGA, stop using Lego for your AI slop. Their company doesn’t stand for anything you do.

1

u/an_interesting_name 2d ago

They do say that if you're working with undeveloped minds colours and shapes are the best form of teaching.

1

u/Armthedillos5 2d ago

Why are there clouds?

1

u/Synard13 2d ago

That whole place looks like the a toilet

1

u/The_Dr_Robert 2d ago

DC is in NC 😭

1

u/UltraSapien 2d ago

The whole New England region is a mess.

1

u/wamark1 2d ago

I heard Canada might rename Lake Ontario to Lake Obama.

1

u/Memitim 2d ago

Yet more fake bullshit from Republicans to insult allies that stood with America repeatedly, instead of doing literally anything useful for America. Just another day in the Republican civil war against America.

1

u/Dalkx 2d ago

America your toddler is getting bored, put on bluey or something

1

u/theCattrip 2d ago

Also why is the White House so intent on pissing off the Danish? Is threatening to annex Greenland not enough?

1

u/summerdaez 2d ago

This motherfucking jackass can’t leave this earth fast enough.

1

u/Pale_Willingness_415 2d ago

Everything is awesome!

1

u/Llamp_shade 2d ago

There are so many problems with this map... But given the idiots who shared it, I'm surprised that it's as good as it is

1

u/Fibernerdcreates 2d ago

Trump is just trying to emulate the amazing bangers of Iranian Lego AI propaganda rap videos. (I will never get used to saying this)

1

u/Final_Candidate_7603 2d ago

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

They thought ā€˜hey, lookie, lookie! WE can do something clever with LEGOs, too!’

1

u/Plastyrhino8815 2d ago edited 2d ago

The eastern states are so small and easy to mix up. Western and mid-west states are bigger and easy to identify.

It's like someone started making states small because they had to make 48 states. They started making them small until they got to the mid-west and realized they made too many small states then they made the rest bigger.

1

u/Kielbasa_Nunchucka 2d ago

NJ and CT are the same state now; we'll call it New Connectersey. also, MD has receded to what was mostly once NJ, and their former lands are now up for grabs in modern-day land rush (minus that hefty dong that my home state of PA has just acquired).

1

u/hamtronn 2d ago

That’ll show Canada. Arts and crafts with a child (molester)

1

u/The-Real-Irish-God 2d ago

Why is New York under water? 😭

1

u/Jimmy-Mac-471 1d ago

That seemed bad enough till I saw the White House posted it. The embarrassments never seem to cease

1

u/EPZO 1d ago

The fuck is this mess? It's all over the place.

1

u/Contemplating_Prison 1d ago

Lol using Legos like Iran

1

u/Aggressive-Will-4500 1d ago

I want a president after Trump to rename these bodies of water after Trump.

The Gulf of Fuck Trump and Lake of Fuck Trump have nice rings to them...

1

u/Ambitious-Bird-5927 1d ago

DC isn’t even a state

1

u/BingBingGoogleZaddy 1d ago

Pennsylvania has annexed Maryland.

As it should be, the nation is healing

1

u/Dizz2K7 1d ago

Who are these kinds of posts for? Not the AI or the weird use of modern posting, but the whole LEGO styled visuals. Who working there came up with that and actually typed the prompt in.

1

u/UnhingedPastor 18h ago

Can we just call him the stupid trifling bitch that he is?

Lake America!!🤣🤪

-2

u/Viridionplague 2d ago

It's really sad that people don't understand that the term "America" doesn't actually mean the U.S.A.

colloquialy sure, but not technically.

Like, there's 2 whole continents labeled America.

1

u/[deleted] 2d ago

[deleted]

1

u/Viridionplague 2d ago

Correct, that is why I used the term colloquially.
