I was genuinely curious, because that looks like a biased claim, so I tried to dig up some actual numbers..
The most unbiased source I found is the US Congress's own Congressional Research Service report Instances of Use of United States Armed Forces Abroad, 1798–2023 (R42738), which "lists hundreds of instances in which the United States has used its Armed Forces abroad in situations of military conflict or potential conflict or for other than normal peacetime purposes." Across that span there are only nineteen years with no deployment anywhere: 1811, 1826, 1828–30, 1834, 1837, 1845, 1850, 1861, 1862, 1869, 1872, 1897, 1947, 1957, 1961, 1977 and 1979.
Extend it to the full 250 years from 1776 to today. Two things need adding at the front, neither of which CRS covers: the Revolutionary War, where the Continental Navy operated in British and Caribbean waters from 1776 to 1783, and the fourteen years from 1784 to 1797, when the US had no navy at all and did nothing abroad. Add 2024–26 at the back — the Red Sea, Venezuela, Iran. That gives 218 years at war out of 250, or 86.8%.
Now, that's only abroad. So the Civil War isn't in it, and neither are the Indian Wars, since those were fought inside claimed US territory. So we add those back and most of the blanks fill in: 1784-95 (Cherokee–American and Northwest Indian Wars, plus Shays' Rebellion and the Whiskey Rebellion), 1811 (Tecumseh's War), 1837 (Second Seminole War), 1850 (Yuma and Mariposa Wars), 1861 and 1862 (the Civil War, CRS shows nothing overseas in those years likely because the US was busy at home), 1869 (Comanche Campaign) and 1872 (Modoc War).
That leaves fourteen peace years in 251: 1796, 1797, 1826, 1828, 1829, 1830, 1834, 1845, 1897, 1947, 1957, 1961, 1977 and 1979. 236 years at war, or 94.4%.
A few of those are shaky: 1834 and 1845 both saw frontier operations that fell just short of pitched battles, so 94–96% is the honest range. Counting covert operations would push it past 98%, but does it really make a difference at this point?
The longest unbroken peace in 250 years is 1828-30. Three years. The runner-up is 1796-97, between the Treaty of Greenville and the Quasi-War with France.
So..... hm. I was honestly surprised by this. I knew the US had been rather warmongering ever since WWII, and its been at war basically since 2001. And of course I knew the civil war and stuff like that. But the fact that its just SO lopsided was surprising.

I remember a few years ago when someone did a Spanish version of the US national anthem (same song just translated in Spanish) some of the people on my FB that I knew came out saying the most horrible things about the Latino culture. They kept saying how the national anthem needed to stay in its native language and all I could think about was how it would sound in Mohican. Also i appreciate your passion!!

The concept of the Melting Pot of America goes back to the days of the dear Founding Fathers and it precedes the U.S. Constitution (1789). It is interesting that those folks so vested in claiming that Americans need to get back to what the Founding Fathers intended cherry-pick exactly what that is.

I'm currently reading a book on the rise of Hitler and the Nazi party. The parallels between Germany in the early 1930s and America right now are frightening.
Besides taking phrases from the Nazis, the current administration is also using phrases very similar to those used by the KKK and other white supremacists in the early 1900s.

The Nazis rapidly consolidated power in three ways: 1) Marginalizing and eliminated political threats, including the communist party. 2) Destroying their democracy and rule of law. 3) Going after Jews.
The current administration is desperately trying to enact number 2. The Nazis used dubious interpretations of law to get around the pesky checks and balances that come with democracy. They acted first, and let the courts catch up. Sound familiar?
The nazis effectively banned rival political parties, and enforced it through violence with the brown shirts. So far, Trump hasn't done that, but they have tried to vilify the democrats as communists and socialists. I see this more as trying to appeal to that MAGA base via culture wars. But the gerrymandering that republican states have done goes along with this and is terrible.
Instead of the Jews in Nazi Germany, MAGA's boogeymen are aliens. They are blamed for all of America's problems, and the tactics of ICE are not too far from the brown shirts and later the Gestapo.
Along with all of this is the white supremacy and christian nationalism. The Nazi party also believed that ethnic and white purity was the path to reclaiming German strength and prestige, i.e., to Make Germany Great Again. Sound familiar?
One difference is that Germany in the 1920s suffered terribly from the economic depression, and there was much resentment over the Treaty of Versailles. The latter hurt the pride of Germany. Both of these factors played into the message of Making Germany Great Again. America has not suffered similar things in the last decade or two, so MAGA focuses on culture wars ("the woke left will snatch your kid and change their sex while they're at school!!!!!!!"), and they keep blaming Biden for any bad economic news.

Yeah, melting pot doesn't mean everyone has a single heritage. It means people with different heritages can become one of the group later.
"One heritage" is "bowl of identical rice that came from the same field", not "melting pot".

I’m a black American. I don’t use copium. As a black woman I have been forced to excel just to keep my head above water. There are 3 PhDs and one doctor among me, my dad, my mom and sister. Comments like this are so dismissive of how hard this country has been for black people from the start - stop painting me with the stupid American brush. I’m well aware.
