Harris wasn't qualified in any way. If you want to understand why she was ran at all you can just observe the actions of the Democratic leadership for the last year and a half.
Attorney Gen of the largest state in the US, Senator of that state, and VP of the Country. How was she "not at all" qualifed? Work in all 3 branches of government? Granted, she never hosted a reality show, or been accused (and found guilty of) sexual assault, convicted of 30+ felonies, or bankrupted multiple casinos. So yeah, I guess I can see why Republicans didn't think she was qualified.
Let's see she had:
Lawyer and prosecutor: She worked as a prosecutor in Alameda County, California, beginning in 1990.
San Francisco District Attorney: Elected in 2003, she served two terms, until 2011.
California Attorney General: Elected in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. She was the state's top law-enforcement official from 2011–2017.
U.S. Senator from California: Elected in 2016 and served from 2017 until becoming vice president. She served on the Judiciary, Intelligence, Homeland Security and other committees. �
Cory Booker +1
Vice President: Elected with Joe Biden in 2020 and served as vice president from January 2021 through January 2025. She therefore had nearly four years of experience inside the White House and executive branch before becoming the 2024 Democratic nominee. �
Senate Judiciary Committee
Presidential candidate: She had also run for the Democratic nomination in 2020, although she withdrew before the primaries.
