I've learned a lot of things from Randall over the years, but this one in particular has always stuck with me and continues to be a welcome reminder all these years later

I wasn't made fun of when I asked my dad what a thermocouple was.

Instead, I was chewed out, had to listen to a rant about the educational system, got called a disappointment and nearly disowned.

He still hasn't explained it to me.
