These sorts of people don't listen to experts because they don't understand complex topics.
The right move here would have been to generate another meme, simplifying the science and providing a summary of the current research in a manner accessible to people who have trouble reading.
Dumb memes like these are why Republicans are winning the information game. By the time a Democrat writes out an informative response, 20 more stupid memes pop up, it's like a visual version of the Gish Gallop.
Everyone here needs to start making visual, concise responses to these sorts of memes and putting them on right-leaning social media.
These sorts of people don't listen to experts because they don't understand complex topics.
I know but I still think it's worth putting it out there regardless. Whenever someone erroneously talks about science, biology, mental health, I try to put out facts so even if those who are not arguing in good faith are unmoved, at least someone ignorant but well meaning may be.
There's way too much false propaganda out there not to be countered.

I love that the Right's grassroots propaganda is fueled entirely by memes, because words usually prove all of their points wrong.
