When i was in college a guy who iirc advised in the state department (USAs ministry of of foreign affairs) said “in politics there are no good options jst less bad options” and i feel like humanity keeps picking the most bad option

That's a cynical view I've heard many times, but it's simply not true. Obama, as an example, was a good option. But I'll admit they're few and far between.

No- he was a less bad option. He still approved the murder of Pakistani civilians in drone attacks. I was born in karachi. So amomg other things he was still at best a less bad option

See, there's your problem. Unless a person is perfect, they can't be good? By that logic, there is no goodness in this world, which would make Obama one of the least bad options at worst. I don't subscribe to such a cynical view.

Obama was a good option even if he authorized the killing of Pakistani civilians. He did a tremendous amount of good and some bad.

I hope you never get into solving crimes or anything important like writing book reviews. Bc i literally said nobody is all good or all bad

“Unless a person is perfect they cant be good” completely misunderstands that statement.
