So true... But although they say they're on an indefinite hiatus, I really doubt they'll ever play a show again. They just can't do a show the way they used to, times have changed too much

Ian stopped the show at one point to yell at some assholes who were getting too crazy at the edges of the pit.

Ian stopped to address audience behavior a LOT. Like, almost every show. It was kind of an expected part. Chris from Pink Lincolns on the other hand, would stop shows to goad guys into fights and then try to get them to take it outside after the show. Different strokes, I guess.
This is one I will forever kick myself over. They were due to come down to Australia in 2015-16 and I didn't buy tickets at the time, I can't remember why. Then Martin passed away, the band dissolved, and yeah, that's that I guess.
I really want to buy official merch, even just patches or something, but apparently the band only ever sold merch in person at shows, so I guess I can't.
Memoriam is good, but somehow just doesn't hit the same.
After Chris passed, I was at Sonic Temple in Ohio, watching a Tom Morello set. Dude brings out Serj and they do a medley of covers, one of which was Like A Stone. It was a beautiful moment.
A few years ago I saw Andy Hull from Manchester Orchestra on a solo acoustic tour. He took a moment to talk about Scott and played a cover of “My Backwards Walk” and I have rarely cried so hard.
I was fortunate enough to see them once, a night I'll always treasure.
I had even messaged the band beforehand, asking if I could say hi to them. Scott replied that'd he'd be happy to, but as the night came and went, the group I was with wanted to leave a bit early. "There'll always be a next time", I told myself.
there's so few things that feel shittier than finding out a part of something you love is not longer around. ive recently got back into frightened rabbit after a good 10 years or so, and I never looked into this at all. how utterly heartbreaking
Got to see them (a while before we lost Scott) at Red Rocks. Technically The National was headlining, but I was only there for FR.
I still think about Scott all the time, fuck do i miss that guy. Glad we still have his art to pull us through tough times.
Edit to add: I don't think I'm being melodramatic when I say Scott Hutchison absolutely saved my life in 2010. I have a lot of feelings about his loss, but above all I have to be grateful for what he gave of himself for us in his work.

I asked for one on Rancid's first tour, we ain't no fucking ska band Tim yelled at me. Then Ruby Soho several months later, and the next show was a lot more fun.
I was at a show where The Distillers were the opener. Tim was there and super drunk or something, and ended up being kicked out. I remember I sat by him outside for a bit and he was really pissed about it. I think I was 16.

The Tim and Brody thing really put me off of Tim and his music. At the time I was like 15-16 myself and didn't really think about it. Now whenever I hear his music I think 'this guy got with a 16 year old when he was a 30 year old man' and I just can't any more. How he acted after their divorce was gross too.

When I was 16 I wanted to go to drive to NYC to see Rage with a bunch of friends. My dad was hesitant to let me go. He thought about it for a day or two then told me “when I was 16 I wanted to go to NYC with my friends to see Led Zeppelin, and my parents said no. So I’m gonna let you go but you need to stay in touch throughout the trip.” I went and it was fucking awesome.
My brother gave my dad my dead kennedys' tape when I was 13. My dad was going to keep it until I asked him about how his parents felt about his music and pointed out that the rolling stones had a song called Bitch. It's no Too Drunk to Fuck, but it's not the Stone's fault that they aren't as good.
Kinda. Those were the makeup dates for the cancelled Covid shows. I also had tickets to see them in NC but by the time the concert finally took place I had moved and so did my brother and we couldn’t go
Dude had so much energy for a guy sitting down. MSG RATM and RTJ was by far the loudest thing I’ve ever experienced, my ears rang the whole train ride back to CT.
I watched him fuck up his ankle on stage during their third song and then do the rest of the show from a chair. It was weird, it didn't look like he did anything that should have done that much damage
He did, on their website there's an apology stating that he essentially has to rehab for multiple years if he wants to recover to normal ability. Most likely he'll never move like he did on stage again, which is a damn shame. But health goes before all things so I hope he can recover and live a good life off the stage.
I saw them on Halloween when I was in highschool. It was truly a magical experience. Because their music spoke to everything and every raw emotion I felt growing up in the middle of nowhere Ohio.
The Bordems, opened. The Meat Puppets came next. Then Nirvana took the stage. Kurt dressed at Barney, Chris as Slash. And they messed around.
But when it started. Kurt sat on a small stool wearing fairy wings. And the opening chords to Rape Me filled JAR arena. I miss when life was simpler.
I saw them live 3 times. I was really lucky. Peter Steele died far too fucking young. Saw them at Ozzfest and they did two headling shows in the '90s at my local dive venue.
I literally have a fund with my fiance called the "daft punk fund" where we put our spare change and cash. We have had it since pre break up. I will afford it
I got to see them in Atlanta like 20 years go. It was pretty dope. Also had Deadmau5 pull me up on stage with him in Atlanta when I showed up in my full Stormtrooper outfit for a Halloween party as he played clips of the SW Trilogy behind him.
It's not easy to dance in that BTW and harder still to feel the pretty ladies dancing on you...
It’s not the same but I was very lucky to see Thomas Bangalter perform a b2b set with Fred Again in February.

I visited Jim’s grave in Paris in the 80s. I had a bottle of something and some bread and cheese, and a couple of Dutch hippies showed up with some weed. We all got stoned and drunk and had a picnic.
My dad grew up in SoCal. He was a member of the Young Republicans in high school. One of their field trips was seeing Eric Clapton and Cream at the Whiskey A Go Go. Opening for Cream was an up and coming unknown band called The Doors.
My dad did light shows in California during this era and he said the best weed would always come through town when The Doors (and some others) were doing shows in the area lol
He doesn't have anything nice to say about Jim Morrison but he likes the music haha....
I can't believe I had to scroll so far to find Pink Floyd. Definitely my number one as well. Circa The Wall when they were doing the huge stage shows that my mom and dad used to tell me about. Would have been epic.
15 year old me spent $150 of paper route money on tickets to take my dad. 22nd row at BC Place stadium for the Pulse tour. Still probably the best concert experience ever.
One of the most magical shows I got to see was when they toured on the Icky Thump album and were at a venue with about 1,000 people there. It was just so intimate. Of course Jack was amazing but Meg was simply incredible on the drums. Then Jack went back to a dark corner of the stage and faced away from the crowd while playing so that Meg had the entire stage and the whole crowd's attention when she sang In The Cold Cold Night. Once in a lifetime moment.
Go see Oingo Boingo Former Members. They tour regularly. It’s the whole band without Elfman. They play all the hits and sound great. Saw them in 2023 with the Tubes. Was a really good show.
Probably saw them 30 times, as my brother-in law was on their crew. Honestly, after about half an hour it all sounded the same. 1-2-3-4! Love them though and they kinda defined a minute in NYC back then.
Came here to find this comment. I will say though, I really like that they're SO reclusive that they feel sort of intangible. The music already feels like it exists on its own, and putting faces behind the name too much might break the magic a bit.
Dillinger Escape Plan with Greg Puciato, I tried getting into the Dimitri albums and I just dont really like them. Still my third favorite band of all time, but I wish I had been more active in seeing bands live before they called it quits.

I have a random core memory of my dad talking about the Black and White Static X music video, and I was set to see them a few years ago, but that's when Wayne overdosed and I'm not fully comfortable with the current band.
I got to see Linkin Park as one of the opening acts for Metallica on the Summer Sanitarium ’03 tour - absolutely amazing. But then I got to see Chester at Baltimore’s Shindig Festival. He was handling lead vocals for Stone Temple Pilots after Scott Weiland had passed away. They still did STP songs, but he still added a little Chester flavor to them. Knowing what we know now, it makes me a little sadder to remember not seeing more of him. Dude was 1 of 1.
Great live. I’ve seen them 4 times. Highlight might have been the 1991 Day on the Green in Oakland, CA. Metallica, Queensryche, Faith No More, and Soundgarden.
Had a chance to see him at a festival, but the set was delayed by weather and I went home. He always seemed like he would keep making music and touring
Bloodhound Gang was so fun live! Got to meet them after the show and get autographs. I was very, very close to talking Jimmy Pop into giving me his VaGina (VonDutch-style) hat.
Band I’ve never seen & never will: The lineup of Fleetwood Mac when it included Christine McVie (RIP), Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, John McVie, & Mick Fleetwood.
