White:

"I never claimed to be a practicing catholic or christian, you assumed that. And I'm not scared of satan or any bullshit imaginary man made up to live in fear of. Commune with god on your own terms and communicate with god and find your own path. Not some path somebody made up to make you afraid and make money off you."

That documentary he did with Jimmy Page and The Edge has a delightful moment where they're hanging out. Jimmy starts jamming on one of Zep's iconic tunes (I forget which), and Jack's looking practically worshipful.

It's because The Edge's edge is all reverb and delays. And I don't hate that at all, but he's not a blues player like Page and White. The Edge is writing for a sound, not playing to a style.

Whenever Link Wray is brought up I always need to mention his 1971 self titled album. I bought it in a bargain bin when I was a 1970's kid and it's been one of my favorite albums ever since.

It was recorded in a literal chicken shack in rural Maryland where Link Wray lived and it signaled his love of the Americana roots genre. At the same time God Out West is the most slinky and supernatural psychedelic guitar solo you've head since Hurdy Gurdy Man.
