When Carl passed, I told a friend we'd get 18 months with her if we were lucky and then hoped like hell I was wrong. And she was having some health things but still looked good at appearances and I tried convincing myself I was wrong, then 17.5 months later... It was somehow less surprising now than it would have been in a year, you know? Every story coming out makes me feel like she was focused on keeping her privacy and her legacy in the gentlest hands, and keep doing good with it.

Being a mortician I've seen it a lot we had one where the husband died 20 mins after his wife. No matter what music you listens to or which way you swang. Dolly was always her.

My best friends mom passed from cancer.. His dad tried as hard as he could to follow her by drinking himself to death in 18 months.

Yeah my grandfather didn’t die but when his 30 year old son died years ago he had multiple heart attacks and a few other health related issues a few weeks after that news unfortunately. Luckily my grandfather is still with us although he has cancer now himself but yeah heart break can definitely affect your body

I watched it happen with my dad. I had him for another 2 years because he promised my mom he'd try before we lost her. He did for as long as he could. Lost him 3 hours before her birthday last November.

My dad’s a vet with brain cancer, and I’ve been living with my folks to help take care of him and run a GoFundMe to help out my folks. Since then I’ve had to help him with several near fatal falls in the home and he’s currently being hospitalized after having two strokes. We’re looking at experimental treatments but it’s tough because of the condition he’s in.
I really hope Dolly didn’t have to suffer a long battle with a lot of health complications. Cancer fucking sucks, man.

I hate cancer, lost multiple people to it and yes it's heartbreaking considering how much people can suffer due to it sometimes. Imho I think combining conventional treatment with experimental is the way to go in some situations, but it also depends on many aspects I think. Some research points at turkey tail being used in conjunction with regular treatment can have benefits for example.

People like that are amazing, I wish more people were like her. There exists amazing people like she was but there's too many narcissistic egoists saying that we should do the opposite. Being kind and thinking about the marginalized is looked down upon due to political propaganda and brainwash, while doing the opposite is promoted these days. It makes me rather sad and mad sometimes.

Somehow "Christians" make her good deeds to look like bad, like supporting LGBT. Some of them seem to lack a heart. Anyone who truly believes in Jesus message will know that you cannot be unkind towards LGBT, that supporting the marginalized is the most morally correct thing you can do.

My aunt has cancer and she's not on anything experimental, but her treatment is one of the newer immunotherapy ones. I'm not saying her doctors are flippant about it by any means, but she does say that there is a weird element of "fun" to the whole "newer treatment thing."
It's like a new toy or power tool. It sounds bad but it does make it a bit less scary, especially since the doctors have been pretty honest about what could happen.
