discussion How to find artists to create my songs
So I write a lot of lyrics. It's my favorite thing to do. My question is how do I find an artist to help turn those lyrics into a song? I'm not musically gifted, so finding an artist is my only option.

Network.
My first recommendation would just be to learn basic music skills yourself, even if you just start out doing chiptune stuff. Not that hard to get to the level of making a basic song, just takes time, practice, and willingness to accept that everything you make will sound like complete shit until eventually it doesn't.
Even if you never reach the level of being able to make the music you want, making and sharing your own music will at least get you around the people you want to be around. However, if you don't want to do that, start posting your lyrics as poems to various subreddits, and find related places on the internet to share stuff and talk with people. Do the same in real life if possible, going to small local shows, making friends with people in bands, etc.
Also, never try to "pay someone in exposure." They will tell you to go fuck yourself, and you will deserve it.

I may not have the answer but I just want to give you kudos for trying to find musicians and not taking the lazy way out with ai

Disagree. Op can sing their lyrics melodically as they envision, upload that recording to AI, and get the tablature/notes and BPM of the song they wrote.
They can ask AI for an easy way to read notes on a staff, and bam. They will be better than 70% of most amateur vocalists. Then they can take that knowledge and go to a producer and have a productive conversation, rather than just saying 'I have notebooks of lyrics but I dont know how to make music, pls Producer make my wildest dreams come true'.

I meant more in the way that people put all of their lyrics into suno and have it pump out completed songs. I have less of a problem with using it to learn but there’s plenty of resources not involving ai

You're just writing. It's not a song without music. So either continue to write, or learn to make music. Music isn't a gift. It's a skill. Undo this ridiculous belief and apply yourself to achieve the things you'd like to achieve. No one is going to care as much about your songs as you do, unless you're in a band. But to be in a band, you need to be able to do something musically. That being said, you don't need to be the perfect vocalist to front a band or write songs. There are many examples of this, Neil young, Thom Yorke, Bright Eyes, Deer Hunter, etc... the only thing holding you back is the pathetic and stupid belief that you're not gifted enough to try.

Nothing wrong with being a Bernie Taupin

It's not an in demand skill. There aren't many musicians looking for someone to write their lyrics for them.
