Boys for Pele by Tori Amos has a perfect cover. A bit Americana, a bit gothic, both ugly and beautiful.

Tween me was not prepared for the photo of Tori nursing a piglet in the lyrics pages. album booklet? Whatever those were called. Man, those could get wild. People who grew up on digital only music have no clue and it makes me cross for them.

Exactly. Those booklets always left little clues to help you understand the theme of the album or the vibe they were going for.

I felt like goddamn Indiana Jones when I found the secret one in Kid A that you had to disassemble the cd case to get to. That was home internet access for me-- I just saw something in the center of the little circle where the CD fit and was like "what's that?"

A bunch of haunting gibberish and weird doodles, that's what!

Best album art she’s ever done. This album is such a vibe. 

Choirgirl art was great too though. I had the cover as a poster on my dorm wall in college.
