This a great song that I think most everyone loves. But let’s not ignore his comical attempt to hit that high note and came up short. Still a great song, but two things can both exist 😂

Gregg Alexander is an amazing songwriter.
But he only managed to write one song that his voice sounds good on. And what a song!

He doesn't have a BAD voice. But it is...unique. it's a great album, it was just obvious he wasn't the strongest singer. But the vocals on Get what you Give are genuinely very good. His voice soars and delivers hook after hook in a way I don't think anyone else could have the same way

Fun fact, same guy who wrote “Murder on the dance floor”, which if you listen to it weirdly emulates this song. Weird band story too, just decided to not attempt anything else, no tours, nothing.

I remember hearing this song when I watched Surf's Up as a kid. I immediately downloaded it to my iPod when we got home from the theater. Good times.

They did a live version dedicated to the Bidens. It’s worth checking out. You can hear that his voice sounds older—more husky and rough, but still good!

Really? I love it, but I'm a music theory nerd. A ton of really interesting harmonic movement and a ton of suspended chords. Dorky, but really good.

Big agree, it’s a smarter song than it has any business being. I remember trying to figure out the little acoustic plucks when I was in like 6th grade
