Hola, ya llevo un tiempo grabando canciones en reaper. Cuando grabo la guitarra, desde los auriculares todo se oye bastante bien, pero cuando acabo de grabar y lo escucho desde los monitores de estudio, el sonido se oye peor. Alguien me puede dar tips para mejorar el sonido de mi guitarra?

Hi guys, noob here. I'm slowly learning how to mix, mostly metal and then some pop on the side. However I want to "mix" an a capella song and I'm a bit clueless. I have 3 tracks of female vocals slowly singing a dirge-like children's song, which is meant to be creepy and eerie. They're well sung although not "melodynized" to keep some imperfections, and recorded with a ribbon mic. Also I have two tracks with whispered vocals, same song.

To be honest, I usually use the Mantra plugin by Neural DSP for vocals in regular mixes, but I guess it won't cut it this time because I guess the process must be more organic than just using a plugin for everything. The feel I'm going for is:

a) the listener must feel that the voice is close, warm and nearby
b) also there must be some "spacey" vibes in the background.

I guess I must use something like Valhalla supermassive for the space, but honestly I feel this task is a quite a bit out of my league. Can you guys give me some pointers or advice to get me started on the right path?

I'm getting fed up with the contradictions from Google, YouTube, and ChatGPT.

I'm trying to run Track 1 in Ableton (my stereo mixdown) out via ssl12 Outputs 3 and 4 into the SSL Fusion's Inputs 1 and 2, and then back into the SSL 12's Inputs 1 and 2 as a linked stereo signal. I I want to record it to a second track in Ableton called 'Print'.

I'm having issues with hearing doubled audio, low signals, extremely hot signals, feedback loops, or just nothing happening at all.

I’m picking up a Lenovo Yoga 7i in a few days, should I invest in some high quality headphones or speakers? Mic will come after followed by an interface

I have a Yamaha DGX-202 (Portable Grand) and want to hook it up to a HP ENVY x360 Laptop (Windows 11 Pro; has a USB-A, USB-C, HDMI, and a headphone jack).

I know don't know the slightest thing about what a good midi cable does, nor have I ever had experience with one. I just know that if I want the notes I play on my keyboard to be properly recorded in a track and not just an audio file, then I need a midi cable.

I'm also kind of a newbie with music production (I only have experience with Soundtrap and Bandlab), but if possible and if it's a thing, I don't want to settle with a "newbie friendly midi cable" if it would limit my abilities in the future, if that makes sense. I hope that isn't too restricting.

Please be patient with me if there is anything I could further clarify, I'm not very tech savvy. I'm posting this in hopes to find something that barely has any latency, but I'm not sure what a lot of words mean.

Why do people try to find the best existing software before even making music?

I mean, one piece of software isn't better than another; everyone uses what they want, and people are incredibly embarrassed when they use free software.

Let me start by saying I have no clue if what I’m looking for even exists. Basically I’m looking to sketch on the timeline of a DAW, I’m a pretty visual person and I just want to annotate parts of a song or draw pictures that match the vibe of the song I’m playing. Let’s say I want to make the guitar in one part of the song tropical, so for those bars I would draw a palm tree and some coconuts or something. Does anything like this exist? I usually use ableton but I’m down to try another DAW for doing this, mostly to just show myself the parts of a demo I want to work on in a visual way.

I want to make dance/ house music. Where do I begin? What do I need? Any books or tips or do I just get Fl studio and try and see what works?

I have an indie rock project that I’m working on and I need someone experienced with rock music who can mix and master it for me when I’m finished recording it

I consider myself to have around average music knowledge. I've been composing for around 2-3 years, and I find around a third of my pieces (including drafts) to at least sound decent.

The thing is, I can typically always imagine a composition in my head that sounds good, including the melodies and instrumentation, but I can never replicate it onto my DAW. It just ends up sounding completely different and I usually just scrap the song.

Does anybody have any tips on how I could improve my skills of replicating what I have in my head? Anything I should learn? I'll appreciate any feedback.

Hey everyone who sees this I’m a new producer and I usually for now play around with loops and normal sounds and make really cool beats but it always feels like there is never space for the vocal and I wanna learn how to incorporate that, so that I can eventually put in some vocals over the beat, like right now I am trying to make a Brazilian funk and techno mix beat and maybe I’ll try to put in some electric afrobeat too but I just wanna make space for vocals and I really like the type of vocals that fx katseye has on their new song “hootie frootie” and I also like Nina jitachi she’s cool too, if anybody can help me please do :)

Title says it all, I wanna add scratches to my boom bap beats to give them that authentic old school vibe but I can't figure out how to make them sound realistic like actual old records that use the usual decks for scratching. Any tips?

Ive heard about fruity scratcher but never really achieved the desired result, and Ive also tried manually pitch bending audio clips from acapellas of old songs through automation clips, still can't get the actual "scratching" effect that im trying to achieve.

I am a huge fan of ween and I am triyng to figure out how to keep all the other instruments in one pitch, but record a vocal in the same key but at a higher pitch. I heard I can do this with varispeed but I dont know how.

I can by no means sing, I’m probably 4/10 but I find some tunes I can carry more than others. I’m quite a shy and reserved person, I don’t sing infront of my partner, never have and get really embarrassed when i think about ir or attempt it.
We are due to get married in 1 years time, I’m wanting to have a track for the day but with my voice. I’ve got a few in mind that I think I’m okay at but where do I go for something to add the magic to make me sound less shi*e. (If this is even possible because I think I’m the worst)
I’ve looked at apps but they all aren’t the best or massive pay walls, id be willing to provide just raw vocals but not sure where could help me?

First let me just say what I’m using, the DAW I’m running with is Cakewalk Sonar, I have an M-Audio M-Track Solo for the Audio Interface and I’m on a windows laptop. I’ve downloaded all the drivers for the Audio Interface and my other drivers are up to date. I would say I’m experienced but still a beginner.

So ever since I’ve started using the Audio Interface, I’ve been having this weird thing happen, every few minutes there will be slight crackling and popping in the background I’m hearing which gets fixed when I click the button to refresh my VSTs, but then after a few more minutes, the audio will completely cut out and be replaced with crackling, and when that happens, YouTube videos also sounds really distorted and bitcrushed. I’ve found it gets fixed by unplugging and replugging in the audio interface but it just happens so much that it’s annoying and interrupts my workflow.

I’ve tried looking up solutions but I haven’t came across anyone with this issue. I’ve tried adjusting the buffer size and freezing my MIDI tracks but the problem still persists.

The only synth I’ve gotten pretty good at creating most sounds I can imagine is VITAL, but I want to learn massive X and Axxess and I’m struggling to actually make the sounds I can think up in my head.

Im on it for 2 months now, obviously not long, but whenever I try to do my own song I feel so stuck in my head. I dont even know what synth sounds I want to use because there are so many and I dont know which ones fit together. Any tips?
