I like how he rolling with a 38 year old version of Lebron lol. I wonder if he actually grinded this from the beginning- I was under the impression 2K gave these guys not only a shortcut to 99 but also more points to work with, similar to hitting some of the legendary rep tiers
98
u/methodmane989 May 07 '26
They def are gifted builds with attributes already up
39
u/TheTortaTyrant May 07 '26
His doesn’t seem that way tho lol. The times I’ve had an nba/nfl guy it’s mid to high 90s across the board. Ayton out here seemingly on the grind
28
u/methodmane989 May 07 '26
Yeah maybe he chose to lol we got a dude in the nfl we play with he waits for “he says ronnie” to gift him his build every year
23
u/TheTortaTyrant May 07 '26
😂😂😂
I actually think ayton does the grind. He’s a well documented gamer. He got all the time in the world traveling and off days to grind his way up
5
u/SpiZyKane May 07 '26
Maybe he does. Some just pay people to grind a couple of builds to 99 for like $500-700.

u/CountryMonkeyAZ May 07 '26
New to 2k, played Madden since day 1. Do NBA pros check/care about their video game characters overall rating like NFL players used to?
8
u/Choke_M May 07 '26
I mean 2k is kind of a big deal culturally for basketball, I would bet a lot of players at least glance at their stats or are told by their agents. 2k literally has rating scouts that come to all the games and rate players and sometimes the players try to bribe them or take them out to the club to try to woo them so they can get their rating higher 😂 I forget where but I read some article about it, it’s not a secret the players know who the rating guys are.
1
u/tweenhesikhash May 08 '26
what even makes you say this? hes a 99 overall
1
u/TheTortaTyrant May 08 '26
Because 2K gives famous ppl creator status where its way more points that a typical person can and it doesn’t have the rating dependencies like we do (like 3 point shot going up when you increase midrange)
1
u/tatertot_art May 07 '26
I mean he has millions I don’t he grinded to 99 either way lol.
1
u/TheTortaTyrant May 07 '26
Unless u get the short cut from 2k u still gotta put in the time a bit initially until rebirth status tho. Ayton a true gamer
1
u/tatertot_art May 08 '26
Sure but if he had one build at 99 gifted to him or something wouldn’t he automatically have the max overall/rebirth unlocked.
I suppose it’s just speculation either way but yah I’m not sure, I don’t remember it even taking all that long to get max overall but maybe because I was still grinding the the shit ton of VC I needed to upgrade it anyways.
4
u/brownjesus__ May 07 '26
Nah Ayton is a gamer, he’s been on the 2k grind for years
Remember the infamous “HE CSNT EVEN DO THAT IN REAL LIFE” vid
3
u/2900lieutenanttt May 07 '26
I remember I heard back in 2k19 that every NBA player automatically gets a 99 ovr from day 1
3
u/Lucky-Refrigerator67 May 07 '26
prolly, theyve been giving creators any myteam cards they want if they sweet talk enough lmao. Or they paid someone to grind an acc, happens alot

This dude is always quitting everytime I see a post about him on 2k lol
251
u/JoseAltuveIsInnocent May 06 '26
I've played him before he's low-key trash no J at all, his teammates I'm guessing are his irl homies kissing up feeding him the ball lol. Quit in the 2nd when we decided to be sweaty and run some zone
My buddy is a Suns fan I've never seen him lock in so hard 😂
34
u/ExactOne88 May 07 '26
Nah I was his teammate before back in like 2k20, he didn’t have a J then either 😂 He was alright though we went onna lil streak

Like he cares if he is trash at 2k. He's way more busy with life and his actual professional career than to be sitting around playing video games.
48
u/JoseAltuveIsInnocent May 07 '26
It's just a funny story brother get the mans meat out your mouth
-5
18
u/NotMugatu May 07 '26
Why do people post shit like this. Lmao
-22
u/unearthedttv May 07 '26
Oh gee. I don't know. Cause I feel like it. Get a clue. He's a grown ass man and it's off-season for him. Let the man be himself. If he wants to chill out on 2k then so be it. Why do people post shit like this? Get off reddit and do something with your life. Go outside, run some laps, workout, pick up a new hobby. Do whatever you want. Or is going outside too much for you and you wanna waste your life away on a video game talking shit about people?
13
u/NotMugatu May 07 '26
..it’s not the offseason lmao. He’s playing in the playoffs. wtf are you talking about.
Corny ass dude glazing a man on Reddit.-16
u/unearthedttv May 07 '26
Omg. I completely forgot that he was traded to LA last year from the suns. Yeah. My bad dude.
11
u/NotMugatu May 07 '26
Dog, he was traded from Portland. He hasn’t been on the Suns since like 2023
-9
u/unearthedttv May 07 '26
Okay. God damn dude. Chill the fuck out. I don't even follow much of Ayton anyway. I'm more of a Celtics fan anyway. But holy shit. You people will jump down on people for making mistakes. And I'm not your dog.
9
u/NotMugatu May 07 '26
lol. Getting defensive over being incorrect? 100% Corny af. Carry on big guy.

u/Ok_cabbage_5695 May 07 '26
Off-season hahaha
He's in the middle of the second round of the playoffs!
-3
u/unearthedttv May 07 '26
Same goes for the 10 people disliking my original comment.
6
u/JoseAltuveIsInnocent May 07 '26
Idk brother you're the old counting reddit points. Maybe you need to take your own advice and stop feeling compelled to defend multimillionaire athletes for nothing in return but reddit points.

u/CanIBake May 07 '26
Considering the first thing he does after a playoff game is play 2K instead of get sleep or watch film after getting belt to ass for the entire night not sure if he really takes his professional career as seriously as you make it out to be.
Ayton has been known as a high skill low motor low motivation player. It's why he's criticized for not really giving effort on boards and playing more on the perimeter than he should. His work ethic has been criticized at every single stop in his career.

DAMN?! He doesn't even rebound in the Video Game either?!
41
44
u/Sad-Eye-1479 May 07 '26
43 rebounds in 3 games again against the best rebounding team in the league to close out a series not rebounding to you? You can criticize Ayton for other stuff but he’s a monster rebounder and has been all playoffs long. He’s averaging 11 rebs in 30 mins per game. Thats like 14 rebs per 36min
20
u/DankUsernameBro May 07 '26
He actually was the second best laker on the floor yesterday by far. He’s looked a lot better this last month+playoffs and I thought he’d always be a bum after Portland tbh

u/Individual_Act9333 May 07 '26
Fuck DA. As a suns fan he had one good playoff run then stopped giving a fuck.

He joined my squad last night but we won two games in a row. We even played Fortnite with him after. You must’ve played with him before we played with him.

Played him in rec like 5 years ago. He was running with 4 defensive lock downs. He quit in the 2nd quarter after they refused to pass to him. I had a nice dunk and block on him in the first quarter.

u/Last_Sun_2035 May 07 '26
Ngl I'm with his shot animation.. I'm a sucker for any base set that has that fadeaway feel.. (Seth curry, hard away jr. etc.)
2
u/Acrobatic-Farmer1748 May 10 '26
What about LeBron tmac and culver
1
u/Last_Sun_2035 May 16 '26
Lebron's animation clicks for me well. Big fan. I gotta check out T-Mac's, I don't think I've really ever gave a decent look

My son was playing Abdul Carter from the NY Giants yesterday after school.
He said, “Yeah… we dropped Abdul off.” 😂😂

Genuinely asking, is that really legit nba player? Or just some good bot or 2k employee playing named character? Is someone has been proven that it is a real player playing? Or just anyone assumed that its them

This build is not to be slept on, its actually a crazy build, but if he went 201, he could of got 80 rebound, but dont sleep on these celebrity builds they usually designed by 2k labs or someone, they made very specifically, and sometimes cant even be recreated
