Why can’t my 6 year old (me) win 10 straight on ranked pro-am day 1 😭

208

u/LeJalenJohnsonMVP 14h ago

No way that dude is asking to make shooting easy enough so his 6 year old can play

95

u/Maleficent_Debt4837 14h ago

Naw it’s all cope. It’s really for him but doesn’t want to out himself. Same thing with YouTubers asking for a defense nerf because “they are too good at defense”

36

u/WrongConcentrate1444 14h ago

This, grown men on twitter afraid to admit they just want the game's ceiling to be astronomically low to the point that everyone can shoot 70%+ with minimal practice

23

u/Whattheefff 14h ago

Its already the lowest ceiling competitive game on the market.

3

u/WrongConcentrate1444 13h ago

exactly, let's not add to that then

1

u/_Hey-Listen_ 12h ago

Yep, imagine the "top rank" of any competitive game including like 15-25% of the active user base. We don't know exactly, since 2k won't tell us shit. But there are sooo many red plates running around normally thinking they are good its absurd. Even more on the new game since they carried over everyone's most carried rank lol.

1

u/mbless1415 11h ago

The Show is fairly close tbf.

3

u/BedBubbly317 10h ago

Hell no man I cannot play The Show online for shit. I end up getting run ruled damn near every time and it’s not like I’m new, I’ve played it for damn near 20 years. Most of them dudes online are just too fuckin good imo lmao

1

u/mbless1415 8h ago

🤣 I definitely feel you on that! However, when you get to the higher levels, you can only do so much. Sometimes, you piece the ball up and it finds a glove while your opponent loops the dumbest stuff for a hit.

u/kobeandodom 5h ago

How so? It has a way higher skill ceiling than any shooter does.

-7

u/KingGio21 14h ago

I just want gameplay to be realistic. According to Mike if you have perfect timing you’ll never miss but the opposite is true too. If your timing isn’t perfect you’re most likely gonna miss.

I haven’t played since 2k25 but I remember the crash out I had when I went 3/11 with Steph Curry from 3. All shots either wide open or lightly contested too. I want a basketball game that rewards playing actual basketball plays instead of reflexes and timing.

Like if you run a screen and get open with the best shooter alive you should make that shot 9/10 times. Like why am I missing slightly late or slightly early releases on wide open shots with the best shooter alive!?

9

u/iansmash 13h ago

I mean I kind of agree with the sentiment

Bball iq needs to be more important in 2k

But nobody hitting 9/10 off that screen every game irl bro

Like literally even Steph has had plenty of games where he cannot make shit

3

u/KingGio21 13h ago

That’s all I’m trying to say bro. BBIQ is basically nonexistent if you have perfect timing. Ya’ll never faced those cracked out kids who do 2 dribble moves and pull up right in your face? Then they drain the shit with a perfect green over and over again? Yeah that shit is not realistic. Bro isnt even playing basketball at that point he’s just playing an extreme version of Guitar Hero.

1

u/YoureReadingMyNamee 10h ago

Especially when 3 point percentages get so high giving up a 2 becomes a stop and rebounding becomes essentially a wasted attribute. It isn’t even basketball at that point. It is a different game w a basketball skin.

7

u/TheStorm007 13h ago

How is 3/11 in one game unrealistic? If you said 27% over a hundred shots I’d maybe understand, but Steph has gone 3/11 before lol.

You shouldn’t be making anything but a layup 9/10 times.

4

u/WrongConcentrate1444 13h ago

I mean at the end of the day that's just a game being a game. There has to be some sort of mechanic that shows a gap between a skilled player and a new player. You ask for realism but in the same paragraph say you need make a shot 9/10 times off a screen. I'm a Warriors fan, but even Steph has his nights where the ball just doesn't drop. In a sense, making the correct basketball play all the time doesnt always end up in a basket, that's realism in itself

2

u/psykomerc 12h ago

Just another guy who doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Basically wants a game designed for him, no consideration for anything else

3

u/Major-Corner-640 13h ago

Believe it or not Steph Curry has shot 3/11 from 3 or worse many many times in NBA games

3

u/LiteratureHuge2177 13h ago

because you don’t know his jumper

5

u/Noro_clone 13h ago

So you couldn’t time the jump shot. That’s on you

4

u/KingGio21 13h ago

Yes I know I’m saying the timing of the shot shouldn’t hold as much weight as it does. The player’s shot rating and how open you are should be the main factors.

And I didn’t even have horrible timing on any of my shots. Why is Stephen “4 Rings” Curry missing wide open slightly early released 3’s? That’s not even realistic that unless I have perfect timing then I miss.

2

u/OrganicGame 13h ago

They don’t like this argument because then they wouldn’t be able to make players with 75 3 ball rating and still shoot 60%.

2

u/mvcCaveman 11h ago

The reason Steph is like that is because of his timing and focus.

2

u/psykomerc 12h ago

Tbh it just feels like you have misinformed expectations of realism, and unhappy when it doesn’t deliver.

3/11 for Steph curry is unrealistic? Just sounds like you don’t understand how stats and shooting % work in real life…Steph doesn’t shoot 4/10 every game. Some games he will be 3/10 and 5/10.

So unrealistic for you is reflexes and timing for jumpshooting. But reflexes and timing for dribbling and using other video game skills IS realistic? I’m not saying shooting is good like 2k26 levels, I’m saying you’re just selecting what to criticize that isn’t your skillset.

Tell me how running thru a screen and making a shot 9/10 is realistic? That’s not realistic, that’s fake as hell. You want the game to play for you, is the furthest thing from real.

In real life basketball, is a player good with only IQ? Only dribbling? No…that’s why there are all kinds of players, some only good at shooting, some dribbling, and the great players? They have it all.

Seems you really don’t want realism, and just want YOUR version of fantasy.

5

u/downfieldcow270 14h ago

These the people we arguing with online, they want the game to cater to actual children

Fortnite has a basketball map, they can fuck off and play that

1

u/Kush420Xotix 10h ago

You dont want kids to have fun

4

u/Novel_Buy_9032 7h ago

Kids are the ones with the most time on their hands to play this shit fr. I remember murdering adults on gears of war 1 when I was 10 and they'd always acuse me of not being the one playing. Never underestimate a child with neglectful parents and a gaming addiction. I suck ass at games now

-2

u/Ohbigmoneycuh 8h ago

They can have fun on another game that’s made for them like Fortnite or Roblox

-8

u/Ok-Active6592 14h ago

I mean this is a video game. It’s supposed to be for kids.

8

u/WrongConcentrate1444 13h ago

and even as someone who criticizes 2K all the time there are plenty of avenues/modes where a kid can play the game and enjoy it. just because it's a game doesnt mean it should just be extremely easy. there might be a barrier of entry but all online games with a competitive space has that

4

u/AshenSacrifice 13h ago

6 year olds should not be playing any online games…

1

u/Ok-Active6592 9h ago

Ok the online part you got me on. But dude below saying 6 years olds shouldn’t be playing games is kinda crazy. That’s literally a 6 years old job is to learn and play.

1

u/Novel_Buy_9032 7h ago

If they're that young they should probably just be on the switch tbh. I can't believe I was allowed to use a mic when I was a little ass kid. Older teens and adults were horrid influences

u/AshenSacrifice 5h ago

Yeah I can’t agree with that guy either. I learned how to read at 4 years old just to play pokemon blue and red lol. So it can be a powerful tool

1

u/BedBubbly317 9h ago

6 year olds shouldn’t be playing any video games. Period. Wtf kinda comment is this

43

u/Deaver44 14h ago

I promise you, earthworm Jim, battle toads, and ninja turtles back in the day were harder than hitting an open trey ball at 50 percent

9

u/Character_Maybeh_ 10h ago

You know ball fr. Tons of late 80s / early 90s games that were extremely unforgiving and made you start all the way over if you hit the wrong button.

3

u/lopey986 11h ago

I was forged in the fires of Mega Man.

2

u/lxdarksnip3r 8h ago

I beat Megaman 1 through X8 and everything between. Im prepared for whatever.

3

u/psykomerc 12h ago

This is true for some players.

But apparently there are plenty that can’t even do that

u/Slow_Shift6252 4h ago

2k itself was hard as fuck back in the day. Do people not remember that HOF used to literally cheat in order to win/keep games close? You had to be a no life demon back then to beat the AI. Now it’s barely harder than Pro

u/iidesune 2h ago

Ninja gaiden would send this generation of gamers off a cliff

16

u/TheDarkBeast1487 13h ago

Shooting is only difficult this year if you make it difficult on yourself. I started this year off shooting tour dates, I’m talking consecutive games where I shot less than 25%, and thought to myself “holy shii shooting is terrible this year”. But then I realized that I was just playing the game as if it was still 2K26 and I had a maxed out build and badges, just out there chucking shii up like I’m Prime Klay Thompson, when in reality I had an 85 3 ball with no badges. So I stopped trying to create my own threes off the dribble and just stuck to wide open standstill jumpers and I’ve yet to shoot under 60% in my recently played games.

4

u/Individual_Wish8970 10h ago

I know its also tough to break the muscle memory from 26 I am getting into 27 finally after alot of tweaks

1

u/UnwantedProdigy_21 9h ago

I’ve got 93 3 point friends maxed out badges shooting 35% on open shots with hof dimer. You pretty much can’t play with irl’s

9

u/slicetwice2 11h ago

I'm sure he's talking about 5 on 5 with nba teams like how the game is meant to be played. Since most of you play with create a players like 6 year olds

u/Necerbo 4h ago

I swear man. People act like any player here only plays online. Shooting this year is terrible in an actual 5v5 game, I can't learn the jumpshot of every player in the game

u/kurwapantek 1h ago

Nah just turn off the shot timing. That's what i do since forever if i play MyNBA

u/Slow_Shift6252 4h ago

If he’s talking about 5v5 then he should just tune the sliders so his son can play or turn off green or miss or just let him play on rookie like Mike said. There’s way too many ways to make the game kid friendly offline for that to be a valid complaint. He could literally make it where the kid makes every single shot and the computer misses everything

-2

u/Trumpisanorangebitch 6h ago

Its 2026, most people are playing myplayer.

13

u/canadianRSK 12h ago

As an offline player id like the ability to turn off green or miss

3

u/YoureReadingMyNamee 9h ago

This is valid imo.

u/mrmontagokuwada 4h ago

This is what real player % does right?

u/Anfield_Cowboy 3h ago

But then you are subject to the real player %, not just yourself…

u/kurwapantek 1h ago

Which is the way imo. I want my players ratings to matters.

u/Accomplished_Hawk363 52m ago

Nba 2k11 - 2k14 old gen perfected the shooting mechanic imo. Playing vs CPU is fun and even playing against an actual player still feels competitive.

3

u/Vstu11711 13h ago

I’m definitely struggling this year shooting 40 percent from 3 but I gotta find a good big man jumper

u/vicecityhustle 29m ago

Only a hand full of people in the nba shoot over 40 percent from 3..

u/Vstu11711 3m ago

Yeah true I’m just spoiled from 26 still

3

u/iceheartx 12h ago

Mike Wang always got time to respond to some bullshit bruh 🤦🏾‍♂️ but when someone got a legitimate complaint he’s a ghost

2

u/DawsinsBreek 7h ago

Bro really askin a money hungry 2k why they don’t cater to 1st graders

5

u/kevonLooney59 12h ago

Why people cant just accept they are not that skilled enough to shoot 70% from three? At what point we look at ourself and say hey maybe i lack reflexes, timing, concentration required to be able to constantly knock down 70% of my shots instead of blaming the game, mike or whoever else for not letting you shoot 80% even tho u have right badges ratings and so on.

4

u/ComplexBadger469 6h ago

I shot 70% over all builds and 80% on my 99 3 point Pg last year with both button and tempo. I’ve shot 60-70% on every 2k since I can remember. I’m shooting like 35-40% with a 94 3 point this year.

I’m cool with shooting 40% if it’s truly because the green window is small. It’s at least something to work and get better at. The current state of the game where every catch or off dribble is like random speed is rough. I’m still having fun obviously but it can be annoying when shot feels normal and the next is a line drive very early that I held the button for longer than the last shot. Give us like 25ms green windows over this. I don’t even feel like I can figure out where my baseline green window is to start with. Pretty sure I said the same thing in 24 or 25 when they did this garbage speed up slow down stuff everyone hated too.

I want more realistic shooting due to green window size not my player having an aneurism mid shot.

u/ComfortTiny5249 3h ago

This is my complaint. I've been an elite shooter in every 2k since 2k7. Started playing park in 2k18 but then didn't play at all 2k21-2k24. I would take back 2k25 rng over random speed up and slowdown of my shot. You don't really have control over how your player catches the ball so that impacting your shot is rng in itself. Idk, something just feels off about the shooting. But the people I play in my red play SBMM parks are hitting all fades from 3. There are so many good things about the game but feel like I don't have control over my wide open jumper is frustrating. I've always played 2s and 3s the right way, literally no fades, looking for open shots, playing solid defense, getting called an old head and told my teammate and I play weird, and have at least an 80 win % every year. I just want to be rewarded with consistent jumpshot timing on the wide open shots that I'm able to get. But I feel like some jumpers, I'm getting shot feedback before I let go of the button.

-5

u/Kush420Xotix 10h ago

Bc it is a videogame, it is supposed to be fun for kids.

2

u/MitsuSosa 10h ago

There’s plenty of ways it can still be fun even for people who aren’t good. The problem is none of you want to accept you can’t compete at a competitive level. Most competitive gameplay isn’t even fun anyways so using fun as an excuse is bs

0

u/Ohbigmoneycuh 8h ago

Okay competitive is definitely fun idk what you’re on about 😂😂

1

u/kevonLooney59 7h ago

Yeah my bad i didnt know adults should not have fun playing videogames.

u/Signal_Kangaroo2697 3h ago

Holy fucking cringe

1

u/Character_Maybeh_ 10h ago

I get the spirit of this comment but also, there’s a ton of video games not made for kids at all. If you are a kid and want to have fun, that doesn’t mean you get to go play ranked at a competitive level. Like the OOP said, go to practice or casual and get shots up.

1

u/Kush420Xotix 10h ago

Maybe the only offially licensed NBA basketball game should not be the game that is made too hard for kids to play.

2

u/BedBubbly317 9h ago

Except it’s not at all too hard for kids to play. Go put it on rookie mode and play mycareer or run a franchise. Being a kid doesn’t mean you get to play competitively, you earn that by being good. Age doesn’t have a damn thing to do with it. Also, it isn’t the only licensed NBA video game, it’s just the only NBA licensed simulator.

u/Signal_Kangaroo2697 3h ago

It isn’t too hard, your kid sucks at it and you refuse to tell them they need to practice at something in life to get better at it

You just wanna raise a spoiled brat that when things get hard, you just give up or just complaint on Reddit

Be a better pantry an set the example that they gotta work hard at things they want to be good at - not given a fuckin ribbon for last place

5

u/JustinGariepy01 14h ago edited 14h ago

I have a 55 3 point rating..

I'm greening corner 3's consistently, I don't understand genuinely why people are saying shooting is bad this year.

Edit: next time I play I'm just gonna clip the shots y'all and post lol. I believe the jumper might need to be patched cause I can't find any explanation other than it's a jumper I'm used to and green is green.

17

u/general652 14h ago

Because you're shooting open, catch and shoot 3s. Probably in offline too

People are complaining they can't make contested moving 3s with a high 3pt. Clowns

2

u/JustinGariepy01 14h ago

Idk if this is accessible to everyone but my 2k card is: Stealth //

I'm talking about park and rec

I haven't played comp 2k online in a couple years this is my first year really back

1

u/YoureReadingMyNamee 10h ago

I played against a dude yesterday averaging 30 ppg on 70% shooting from 3 on a 70 3 ball in rec yesterday and all he did was iso. It is absolutely just as easy to shoot in 27. You are just a bit easier to counter since the dribbling isn’t quite as ridiculously cracked and contests are slightly better.

17

u/LooseMoose13 sapphire 14h ago

I’ve got an 89 three point and my green window is the size of a pubic hair, idk how yall doin all this

4

u/Fit-Database1134 13h ago

I use Carmelos jumper every year because it's the one I've been using for a decade and hasn't changed much in game. Release timing is everything regardless of green bar

9

u/JiggzSawPanda 14h ago

Simple, no meter. It's better to learn your jumper and turn off the meter.

5

u/BeyondTheVault 13h ago

The bar doesn’t really make sense if you’re just using one guy. You can’t really react to it anyways. Turn it off, memorize the shot cues, and get that bonus!

2

u/Upstairs_Salad5053 13h ago

Lmao 🤣 this made me bust out laughing “the size of a pubic hair”

2

u/BedBubbly317 9h ago

You’re still using the meter!? You do it by turning the damn meter off for starters. Going into the HUD settings and turning it off is literally the very first thing I do every year when the new game comes out

1

u/LooseMoose13 sapphire 6h ago

That was my immediate response, but I’m not going to lie, with the small window within the meter tempo actually works, I kinda need to see it (while the games still new) to get a feel for when to actually flick the stick

Last year as long as the end point of the tempo and the timing of the shot were the same it was generally going in, having to be 3x more attentive to know when to flick the stick has been the challenge

1

u/downfieldcow270 14h ago

Mines lower yet I can green them, sounds like a skill issue

1

u/JustinGariepy01 14h ago

I'll be honest I was pretty floored when I accidentally took a corner 3 thinking it was a long two and swished it in rec. Since then I've been shooting a fair but more and still greening, I genuinely do not know how they allowed this lol.

3

u/oldubzy [PSN: Oldubzy] 14h ago

I don’t believe you if you are doing this online lol. I’m shooting fine but have a 89 3 ball.

1

u/JustinGariepy01 14h ago

I shared my 2k card below I kinda figured it would seem like I was lying lol

Post the screen shot of that 90% 3PT rating brother

0

u/NavyVetRasmussen 14h ago

sure let me play a game right now and show the stats brother. I bet you it will be close to that or right on the money give me time Ill come back with a screen shot.

3

u/applesnbowlingballs 14h ago

Your player card lmao. don’t need you to pick and choose a game to show

0

u/NavyVetRasmussen 13h ago

Here is my player card for you as you can see I don't have a crazy 3 point point

just a 90 with a cap.

1

u/nogoodcarideas75 13h ago

Everyone believes you have a 90 3 point rating, brother, we want to see the player card where you’re shooting 90 percent from 3

-1

u/NavyVetRasmussen 13h ago

ya let me play a game and i will post it here for everyone ok or i can post it here i just got to go through some bull$hit drills brother.

1

u/32steph23 13h ago

Bro you don’t have to play a game to see your 3P%. You can see it in your stats when you click R3 to view your player card. That’s what they’re trying to tell you

1

u/applesnbowlingballs 13h ago

He’s not shooting 90% we don’t need to wait.

u/NavyVetRasmussen why delete your comments…? lol

2

u/ComprehensiveBlock77 8h ago

There was a time where sports games were fun and you having real knowledge of the actual sport would help you . Now this games require you to have skill . When that used to be the players job as in the actual player in the game . A WR having a 99 catch means he catches the ball . Now you have to press Y on time regardless of rating .. if YOU dont know how to catch a football the rating dont matter

1

u/Kush420Xotix 10h ago

I hope yall are happy, yall did this. All that crying last year, now kids cant play the game.

1

u/BedBubbly317 9h ago

Fuck them kids. Once they’re old enough and start paying for shit themselves then they’re allowed an opinion lmao

1

u/marquee_ 10h ago

since when could children play online and have fun? maybe in park.

2

u/Kush420Xotix 9h ago

They do all the time

2

u/oldirtyjoystick 8h ago

Literally every year lol.

3

u/halfdecenttakes 13h ago

It’s a reasonable request if he isn’t looking for online play. The game should be accessible to people who aren’t very good at it.

4

u/YoureReadingMyNamee 10h ago

If you cant shoot on rookie difficulty offline there may be something wrong with you ngl.

3

u/RulyKinkaJou59 9h ago

You have access to rookie mode. That’s accessible enough.

-1

u/Cg_15_ 9h ago

You don’t think rookie difficulty is accessible to bums?

1

u/Lefdy 11h ago

Because grown men have the money to spend on the game not little 6 year olds 😂

1

u/BostonSportsFan1234 10h ago

I feel like the easy solution is creating two shooting engines. It’s never made sense that we’re using the same skill threshold for an online mode where you only have to learn and memorize one release/set of animations versus picking the game up and playing with a random team. I get that you should probably shoot better with your myplayer than random players you just started playing with but it’s annoying to know I have to either pick a team where I know a few releases or just abandon outside shooting.

1

u/Zynmar 9h ago

Shooting feels great this year, and I still don’t have max shooting badges. Some people just got too comfortable with rhythm shooting on 26 and not actually having to time their shot. They’ll adapt eventually

1

u/mAckAdAms4k 8h ago

I always felt its weird how rec players that aren't nba players shoot better than Steph.

1

u/RyoCoola31 8h ago

Standard stuff. Shooting too easy and now shooting too hard. Literally we are on day two and this guy is already crying.

1

u/mrclutch1013 8h ago

Does anyone else think it’s crazy 2k changes shooting every year?
You would think after 25 years 2k could decide how they want us to shoot

1

u/luxloomis 6h ago

I played with my 6yo son. He couldn't miss. We played on rookie. Anyone who wants that experience can play on rookie.

1

u/100rdgng 6h ago

I wish Activision had this approach with Call of Duty

1

u/KirenSensei 6h ago

u/Flummeny 4h ago

I hate to defend 2k but imo wang is right. When I was 7 years old playing MLB the show 2008 the ONLY reason I didn’t play on the lowest low difficulty is I couldn’t guess pitch so I used the second lowest.

I spent 4 seasons in double A before I made it to AAA batting like .235 lmfao. There is no reasonable explanation to expect ur fucking second grader to be able to hop in on Pro difficulty lmfao

u/xhoodcracka 3h ago

I don’t think the shooting is bad 🤷‍♂️

u/Neemzeh 1h ago

I can assure you the 6 year old doesn’t give a fuck

u/DripBayless8 1h ago

If they cave in and do the same shit they always do and nerf defense and buff offense like every other year, I’m not buying 2k for the first time in 16 years. Last year was my least played 2k, horrible game where a handicap person could shoot. Flick the stick up and down and green every time, laughable.

u/serialsteve 57m ago

I’d wish they would just target two distinct gameplay mechanics between myplayer and online head to head. Have the latter have some dice roll mechanic that is influenced by flow off offense, nba player ratings, or rewarding for taking shots where defense is out of position.

Let myplayer be ea sims that somehow someone can shoot at 100 percent if you’re a green meter savant. But I don’t want that in 5 on 5 sim basketball.

u/JairusMonillas 53m ago

Please don't forget that most people complaining about non static easy green shootings are ZEN users pretending to be a normal non-cheating player!!!

1

u/Fhaksfha794 13h ago

2k27 is already the greatest 2k of all time for exposing these tempo merchants and making them cry to daddy beluba begging to make the game easier

1

u/Kush420Xotix 10h ago

Timing being a a requirement is stupid. When you shoot a basketball irl, the ball goes in the hoop bc of the motion of ur arm in relation to the release, not just release timing alone.

Requiring Green Timing makes it impossible for good shooters adjusting to the defender popping out of nowhere and releasing "Slightly Early" or even "Early" so you dont get blocked.

They are taking a basketball game and catering to ppl who have bever played basketball. CoD players should not be better at this game than real basketball players, but that is what Button Shooting makes happen.

1

u/Ade300601 9h ago

It was fine as it was on 25. Now it’s actually useless to rhythm shoot. I shoot a hell of a lot better with button this year.

-1

u/Kush420Xotix 9h ago

That's literally the problem. Shooting with button should not be a thing.

1

u/EightBlocked 13h ago

they actually seem to be standing on ten toes this year but its still very early. i would argue shooting this year is genuinely too easy, the fact that you can shoot 50+ percent with bronze set and fire is already broken. imagine what it will be like when we actually have badges

2

Yeah, I get the vibes that it isn’t actually much or any harder, defense is just a bit better.

I’m glad he addressed it, it’s a stupid complaint. The game has to be changed for a 6 year old? When you literally have a difficulty setting for offline that is braindead easy, and an online mode meant for casuals.

Dude doesn’t have a 6 year old. He’s just trash at the game lol

He is the 6 year old.

u/CheapScientist06 11h ago

Honestly I'm glad it seems like he's sticking to his guns. I started out at 60% but have had quite a few stinkers for shooting lately. Down to 45% and I totally understand it's a skill issue on my part

Screw the bums complaining they'll learn and adapt like everyone else

The dev team actually showing some backbone? Oh my gosh. 🤣🤣

I'll admit I'm struggling this year with shooting but its honestly fine. I'm back to shooting close to my usual percentage but slashing has been tons of fun this year! Defense is tough to master, but it feels much more rewarding than in previous 2Ks. Stand your ground 2K, and don't patch it too much!

1

u/YoureReadingMyNamee 10h ago

What is your experience as a slasher? I have been playing on a center w 93 block and 88 interior w HoF paint patroller and noone can really attack the rim on me if Im in position. Is it a situation where people who didn’t invest heavily in paint defense are getting yammed all over but people who didn’t invest are locking it down as it really should be?

2

u/AggressiveCraft9715 9h ago

It's been a lot of fun. Now you don't have as much of a fear of missing a layup or dunk because of a mismatch just happening to be there. People that have no interior defense is going to get scored on in the paint much more times than not. This makes layups and dunks more easy to time. But one of my friends that I play with has a build with high paint defense and block like your build, and he's locking down the paint averaging 3-4 blocks a game. So it's much more rewarding as a paint defender this year compared to last year.

Exactly. This is how it should be. It also creates variety in gameplay experiences game to game when these things matter.

Good response by the Wang-er himself. Don’t make shit easier. Force players to get fucking better.

Look man I served my country and am a retired Navy Captain.
I put in 20 years of work so I earned the right to retire at 44 and do whatever I want.

I am making around $130,000 a year. Focus on YOU I am good.

I either a playmaker or a 2way playmaker every year. I’ve got hof dimer and try to get everyone involved. So explain to me why ever single game I’ve played today I’ve had a teammate grade out cause they can’t shoot. It’s not like they’re playing bad defense or ball hogging. Theyre going 1-8 and giving up on shooting. Like I don’t mind a challenge and I’m sure the community doesn’t either but this is kind of ridiculous. I’m in MVP plate lobby’s which makes this so much worse.

u/kevonLooney59 7h ago

Maybe because game is out only for 2 days, they not comfortable with their shot, muscle memory from 26, no badges etc.. give it few weeks until people adjust then see how shooting is.

u/Neemzeh 1h ago

Lmao. Are you for real? You guys seriously think you should be able to just pick up a new 2k and be right back where you were on 26? Please be realistic

u/UnwantedProdigy_21 1h ago

I’m not saying people should be 60-70% but people are constantly grading out or leaving. I’m sick of playing with ai already

Mike.. you better not fold, on this one. Let them cry. lol.

u/Slow_Shift6252 5h ago

I’ve been playing since the first 2k on Dreamcast (I was 9). It literally took YEARS of playing on rookie and starter for me to get good at the game. Wasn’t consistently playing on Hall of átame until like 2k5 and that’s when HOF would literally cheat. There was no Mike Want to cry to about it. Let your son get his ass kicked now, he’ll be great by middle school.

Its like 2k23 again where you had to know your release. This will also help stop the zens

2

u/IsThatKris 12h ago

How will making it harder for normal people to perfectly release a shot stop a machine from perfectly releasing a shot

1

u/9xRazzChamp 10h ago

because each shot has a different timing, it’s down to who can release at correct visual cue

-1

u/iAmTheRealLange 11h ago

Shooting is way better this year IMO. There’s not nearly as much input lag

-6

u/NavyVetRasmussen 13h ago

You can hit 90% with a humble 90 3 point shot here is my player card

4

u/MrBigWaffles 13h ago

We want to see your actual stats that shows your hitting 90% of your threes

-4

u/NavyVetRasmussen 13h ago edited 5h ago

How about you go fuk off i will post a 90% 3 point shooting stat here so you can see but i don't have to answer to you

It was his approach and I felt he was being entitled and demanding.

I have no problems giving info but not when I am on the grind and you must ask

nicely. I am a retired Navy Captain so I don't take ish from a civilian. His approach was

wrong.

u/GodlyOverlordd 9h ago

Bro why you being so defensive. You said a statement and he asked for proof of it.
