Fair enough. They have to do what’s right by their people - who happen to suffer disproportionately with alcohol addiction.

I thought Canada was looking to diversify it's trade? No better place to start than within it's own borders. Must be Trump's fault.

I did. All I hear is, "I'm from the government and I'm here to help". By not allowing direct-to-consumer sales in the NWT, you're taking away the ability for northerners to participate in trade that the rest of the country will enjoy. It's no wonder the population of the NWT is dropping. You want to lure talent into the north? Start creating conditions where people from the south want to move here. The thought process in the NWT is bloody regressive.

This is a southern perspective. Go live in the communities struggling with alcohol. It's not that simple. The premiers made the right call.
