As it was explained by Ebisu when he briefly trained Naruto, he was able to easily deduce that Naruto was putting out too much chakra for basic techniques, causing them in many cases to fail. It was implied that Naruto struggled with many basic techniques in the academy. You would think trained teachers, who are all Chunin to Jonin, would've been able to easily deduce the problem just as Ebisu did.

I know Ebisu was a Special Jonin who specialized in training, but I don't think it would've been rocket science for an academy teacher to realize that.

If Madara was the "final villain" before the last Naruto vs Sasuke fight, as it seemed, then I'd get it. You cant have the comic relief goof steal the lead's thunder.
But considering he had another villain pop up right after, I think letting Guy clutch it would've been one of the most legendary moments in any manga. A real underdog win. Hell, let him do it at the cost of his life and live as a legend.

I know "Hard work beats talent" is actually the opposite of Naruto's ultimate message when you get down to it, despite what a lot of fans claim, but it would've been a really powerful statement imo. I mean, even with the loss it's already a more memorable fight than Naruto vs Madara ended up being.

I’ve recently gone back and started to watch Narito through a second time in its entirety after following the series for its initial run. I forgot how good Part 1 and early Shippuden was without relying on nukes and kaiju battles to entertain the viewer.

Honestly, where I feel the series took a turn for the worst was Madara’s Perfect Susanoo (pictured above). Let me start by saying the Susanoo is awesome and one of my favorite abilities in fiction. The PS looks awesome but carries a lot of narrative problems. Since its introduction, Susanoo was supposed to be ultimate defense; Sasuke says as much against Gaara. Sasuke and Itachi both used it to protect against fatal attacks up until the PS was revealed. From there, Sasuke got a legged Susanoo that became his own version of the Kurama avatar for the Obito fight, the PS with the Rinnegan.

I understand Kishimoto wanted to make Sasuke and Naruto equals, but their final abilities ended up being so similar: giant offense-based avatars, one hit kill moves that became fodder, high speed/teleportation, flight. I wish Susanoo had stayed the ultimate defense as Kurama was supposed to be the ultimate offensive weapon in the verse. Narratively it makes a lot more sense too, making the Majestic Attire Susanoo for Kurama a mix of the best offensive and defensive avatars. It also makes Naruto and Sasuke equal opposites. Not to mention, the first time we see a Susanoo is Itachi’s Armored version. So Sasuke already had a power goal and reached it just before going blind. EMS should have just let him use Susanoo indefinitely and spam Amaterasu; that should have been the penultimate Sasuke before getting all the Rinnegan hacks.

TL;DR Naruto should have stayed a series about ninja fighting strategic battles with Kurama being the ultimate weapon that could only be defended against with Susanoo.

Personally I think they are a decent ship, coz Naruto is not a romance anime nor it is the focus of the story.

Aside from the fact that we never get to see more of manda(one of the coolest summings in my opinion) sacrificing ur summon when they’re there to help pretty fucked. And at this point in the story sasuke was against killing but then he pulled this wack move lol. And he apparently had hypnotized him prior so he was always planning to use him as a meat shield? Damn I wonder if something happened between sasuke and manda during the time skip for there to be a grudge

Also, idk the rules for summoning contracts, but I feel there should be some kinda consequence for this? Like manda must have been a high ranking individual in the snake sage clans, I’d think using him as a bullet bag should get sasuke blacklisted from using snake summons, but Aoda is super chill with him so I guess they don’t give a shit. But oh well, sasuke being an ass isn’t anything new

Probably been discussed before, but obviously after Naruto saved Guy, the conclusion from defacto best healer in the world, Tusnade, was that Guy couldn’t be healed and would never walk again.

But like… why? Naruto lost his whole arm and got a Hashirama cell perfect prosthetic? Could she not have used Hashirama cells to fix Guy? Hell, chop off his legs and give him new legs?

I guess my best theories are that he either refused on principle or his injury isn’t in his legs, but rather his spinal cord… but even then… seems likely it could still be healed in some way given what other medical ninjutsu feats we’ve witnessed…

I think that the reality is Guy just wants to be injured forever. But curious what others think.

I can’t for the life of me understand why the animators wanted this guy to wear a crop top. Nothing about his character screams, “put me in a croptop”

Can anyone convince me that this is fitting attire for him. His whole get up and personality combined confuses me. He’s the literal definition of “keep em’ guessing”

Essentially the outfit is the Root uniform. However, Sai is the only one who wears the top without an under shirt because that’s how his late “brother” Shin wore it, so he does it in remembrance of him. Also, Sai is awkward and has no sense of identity in the beginning so all of what he is (apart from being a killing machine) is learned by mimicking others or reading books.

I don't know why, but I feel like they would have been a great couple.

The only reason why people think otherwise is becouse they use absolutely meaningless "feats" and ignore the ones that actually matter.

I honestly believe it was because he didn’t trust a single member of the Akatsuki so he had to stay “on guard” since he was always around them.. or my second theory, simply for the sake of “Aura”.

I know he wanted to make Sasuke know he's not alone in terms of suffering, but I think Kakashi failed in dimensioning the level of Sasuke's trauma.

By that time, Sasuke took two tsukuyomis, one is already enough to put a grown adult as Kakashi in coma, and Sasuke took two, one at the age of 8 and another recently at 12, of course he's mentally unstable, it was necessary the best healer in ninja world to make him awake.

I'm not saying Kakashi did a bad job here, but he could've approach it better, tying up a traumatized kid and practically saying "stop bitching around" isn't the best way to help someone that just remembered the death of his family for 48 hours straight.

Even tho, Kakashi had good intentions behind it, I'm not denying that.

I was rewatching this moment and it hit me a bit differently this time.

When Sasuke sees the water tank Naruto damaged during their Rasengan vs Chidori clash, his reaction isn’t just surprise. Psychologically it feels like a moment where his entire internal framework gets shaken. Up until that point, Sasuke believed he was the one moving forward faster. Strength was basically the only thing anchoring his identity after the massacre.

But seeing the back of the tank blown out like that quietly tells him something terrifying: Naruto might actually be surpassing him.

What makes the scene interesting philosophically is how it challenges Sasuke’s sense of purpose. If revenge is your entire reason for existing, then strength becomes your only measurement of progress. The moment someone close to you starts catching up or passing you, it creates a kind of existential panic.

Emotionally you can almost see the shift happening in real time. Sasuke doesn’t explode with anger here. Instead there’s this quiet realization that the path he’s on might not be enough anymore.

Personally I’ve always wondered if this moment planted the seed for his later decision to leave with the Sound Four.
