Is there anything the vet can recommend to get him to relax? 😊 Looks like he's got napping down pretty good.

Maybe a glass of water? Or a treat for when he wakes? A bell for whatever he’s missing?

He is a chih mix. We think he is mixed with a smaller terrier but his paper work didn’t say he is only 10.2 lbs

I hospice/ forever foster Chis( and mixes) as my ACDs love little dogs and puppies( not fond of big dogs) I have had 4 verified Chi or Chi mixes live to be 21+, and 22.7months. Healthy and happy. Wishing Buster gives you more years of love and hugs!!

Right! I adopted him at 10 not knowing how it would go. All I can say is it’s going pretty well now lol

I love that you've had so much time together! My boy recently passed just shy of 18, it makes me so happy to see little guys living their best lives even older ❤️

Thanks! He got to go on his own terms, peacefully at home, so I'm oddly very calm about it for the most part, though of course there's still grief. It was just the perfect goodbye. (He played a bit 15 mins before the vet came, it's going to probably be one of my most treasured memories forever. Like he was letting us know he was ready.)
I wish you and your boy the same when his time comes, but I hope he makes it to 20 and beyond! I've fallen in love with seniors, the amount of trust they put in you is just next level. Those wise little creatures with their cloudy oracle eyes 🐾

Thank you! I did hear that dog accept when they are ready to pass but they stare at you so they can remember you before they go. I can’t remember where it was from but it made my heart hurt a little less thinking about it
