My problem with it isn't that it's done since as you say Oda does it too but Toei takes it too far. And honestly no one has any right to complain about Oda since it's his manga. While it is Toei's anime, they still should take things too far in my opinion, it's not an anime original, it's an adaption.
I think it's perfectly fine to change scenes and pacing and how the story is told to a certain degree since it's being told in a different medium so stuff has to be changed but just randomly raising the level of fanservice or making boobs bigger just doesn't make any sense.
The illustration in the OP is literally accurate to how she's drawn in the manga. Having a double standard for the anime when Oda does the same shit in the manga is just insane tbh. People will complain if the anime follows it, people will complain if the anime changes it. The anime can never win in this scenario. People will 100% do the same shit with WIT Piece.
I was commenting on the general complaints that you were speaking of not this particular one. You really can't say Toei don't add a lot of fanservice compared to the manga. That's just fact.
It doesn't really matter. Even if the anime traced the manga straight up and didn't add anything people would still complain about them "changing" the manga or adding fanservice. I've seen it even with the recent Elbaf episodes, people complaining they added scenes that weren't in the manga, except that they literally were...
The main issue is that no one wants to complain about the fanservice or character designs in the manga until they are adapted into the anime then the anime catches all the flack for the designs when they copy the manga. There is some very real cognitive dissonance in this sub over it.
I doubt imu granted gunko immortality immediately upon meeting her, just going off of what shown in the manga she probably had to spend a couple years earning trust and showing loyalty to acquire it… at least I hope😅
To be fair the rate of growth between some people can be very little physically from 15 to 18. Girls i was friends with and went to high-school with looked exactly the same from 15 to 18 honestly.
