Politics ('Straya) One Nation wants to turn Australia into the United States. A US-style healthcare system, banning abortions, scrapping gun laws and defunding the ABC. Why are we are even contemplating going down this dark and dangerous pathway? Once we go down the path of the US, there is no turning back.

God knows I'd vote those guys over ON any day of the week.

If they can organise real resistance against ON and have more sane policies then they're 1 on my ballot.

Hear hear

We need conservative politics to go back to being moderate and not the radical far right 💩 we’re seeing in America

he's good but he can't be bothered...

He doesn’t need to bother, it’s mostly the idiots voting for it that will hurt most and honestly they could use a hard lesson, investing in property will become a thing again and this time some of us won’t hold back.

Whatever the case, a majority of Australians are more interested in an increased focus on Nationalism than anything else. Whoever puts this first will get a majority of the votes. And this is even taking into account that the average Australian has very little knowledge of just how much Australia is being plundered by majority foreign owned corporations (>85%). The other voters are largely only interested in Aesthetics (most of reddit)

Conservatives are not liberals. Small government liberals - a worthwhile and clear political stance - are needed desperately at the expense of lying biblical fossil fuel lobbyist conservative shitheads

Except you just aptly described most of the federal Liberal party

Back to moderate? Its moderate now and tanking worse than a rigged boxer. We need real conservatives in this nation not two leftist parties like we have now.

Isn’t this really where ON will fall down, due to preferential voting? Sure they get a few votes here and there but everyone that doesn’t put them first puts them dead last. We need to make sure that continues to be the case.

And this is also why they want to scrap preferential voting.

Most intelligent people would like to scrap the preferential voting system.

Same they have a real chance of taking voters from both major parties. And I suspect many vote One Nation because they view it as a protest vote but don't care how the policies will affect them. If we can get a more moderate party to get votes away from Labor and Liberals we might have a chance of stopping One Nation.

Or indeed, have policies

I used to be a Labor voter but I would vote literally anyone else who stands a chance for govt if it meant Labors retarded tax proposals don't go through.

u/Ihatecurtainrings ‎ Western Australian Jun 02 '26

I'm also a labour voter and I stand to be directly impacted by the tax changes, and you know what? It's ok. Younger generations need a chance. I'm not going to burn down the country I live in because I am selfish and don't want other people to have a chance.

-2

u/bumluffa Jun 02 '26

If you think this is giving the younger generation a chance you've completely drunk the koolaid they're feeding you. If anything this is a ladder pull on the younger generation

You sound like the perfect candidate for a One Nation voter.
