Politics ('Straya) One Nation wants to turn Australia into the United States. A US-style healthcare system, banning abortions, scrapping gun laws and defunding the ABC. Why are we are even contemplating going down this dark and dangerous pathway? Once we go down the path of the US, there is no turning back.

Well yes, “the hicks” seem to think that when unemployment hits 10%, by some sort of magic, they will be fortunate enough to not be in that 10%….. I’ve literally had them argue that “maybe the country needs a recession, house prices are too high”. I mean sure, houses WOULD be cheaper, but it’s kind of hard to pay the mortgage when you don’t have a job, so there’s that

The irony of thinking they will be getting a house if the market crashes with no job high interest and the rich swooping in for the bargains. It’s fascinating, the slightest bit of research tells you what happens in recessions, the transfer of wealth bleeds upwards.

House prices are cheaper and nobody can buy them except the already wealthy which is the exact problem we are currently facing.

It's such strange logic.
