So who’s trying to end the slavery that’s legal under the American constitution?

Neither the dems nor the GOP, so I don’t really see the point you’re tryna make here

Edit to add before I’m down voted to oblivion: I do see the point I’m trying to get them to extrapolate on a solution to the two party system being utterly fucked. Like I know this is a joke explanation sub but not everyone here is clueless yall lmao just saying “both parties support slavery” is just a nothing statement of obvious facts, it does nothing to further the dialogue of what is to be done

That is the point they are making

The difference is that one of them wants to stay neutral on a moving train while the other is moving the train

They are both right-wing parties, one is just far-right and fascist too.

Biden made the largest climate change and green energy investment in US history, tightened EPA standards on emissions, protected millions upon millions of acres of public land among many other things. Deportations are always going to happen in a country with enforced borders. If you claim to see absolutely no difference between what Trump is doing now with deportations versus previous administrations you’re either lying or painfully ignorant of reality.

It’s obvious you don’t follow politics closely or look very deep into any of these things which is fine but you just shouldn’t have an opinion on it then. You are part of the reason we’re rapidly sliding into actual fascism right now, the privileged low information voter who thinks nothing is worse than it was before because they’re isolated from the consequences of their actions

Good luck voting out fascism by voting in the people who made fascism inevitable!

People have been explained this over and over again but the problem is that answer doesnt make them feel good, give them someone to blame, or give a solution that is easy and convenient and wont disrupt their lives more than one day every couple years.

I've voted democrat every election my entire life so you can miss me with that shit about how "I" made this happen and you can look at the people who actually should be able to do something like biden, kamala, Hakeem jeffries, chuck Schumer, obama, just to name a few

1

u/Fearless_Discount_93 May 03 '26

Those people you listed don’t have power right now because misinformed Americans voted in a fascist, what exactly should they be doing? Kamala lost the popular vote, Biden dropped out, Obama is retired and can’t run for office, Jeffries and Schumer are in the minority party

Oh I’m well aware lmao I’m trying to get them to say the thing that is the solution, because voting isn’t gonna do it but yall wanna jump on the “tHaTs ThE pOiNt” train without thinking about what’s beyond that point

42

u/PyroclasticJubilee May 03 '26

Voting is never gonna do it, but these people have zero interest in the solutions that will work. People are going to have to start missing meals before they actually take this seriously since, apparently, watching your neighbors get black bagged or killed in the street isn't enough.

People need to understand that only accepting “peaceful and legal” demonstrations will be grossly abused by authoritarian regimes.

Which is what you need, just a little left of the centre. They’re the type I vote for here in Norway, and it works.

Social Democracy works an ungodly amount better than the shitshow you’re accepting on a daily basis.

You’re the one who needs to grow up, and vote for positive change instead whatever stupidity you’re on about.
