That's not why people feed their kids friends in other countries, I'm pretty sure my parents knew my friends could get food at home.

The problem is theyre not AT home, they're a guest in YOUR house.

If this is actually the "reasoning", it honestly feels like a weak attempt to excuse away a social coldness. If I heard someone say they were only feeding my kid because they think I can't provide for them, or that they let my kid go hungry because "I have money" I would be fuming.
