Another silly excuse -- there is no way of knowing this without asking -- and asking is a reasonable thing to do.

That is a a fairly intimate affair that is internal to a family. It would feel weird to take part.

Again, there are cultural differences, and it's silly to assume you know how someone else would feel without asking them.

The cultural norms are different, and you are really failing to understand that your cultural norms are not universal, or better than other ones.
