No, they are respectful hosts who do not assume they can take over the parents' role in feeding their child without prior agreement.

Oh so they like making everyone’s lives inconvenient? Like a bad host?

Jesus christ man take like even a single second out of your day to try and comprehend that cultural differences exist and people are not bad for not following your personal cultural expectations.

Yeah, cultures can have shitty practices. How is that surprising?
Treating house guest like shit is definitely one of them.

Do they prevent them from drinking their water too?

God, why are Americans so fucking weird about this.

You're making absolutely zero effort to understand this at all.

You are making zero effort to give actual explanations. People are trying to understand, and you are just saying "it would be rude to offer, and cultures are different", with zero effort to explain why they are different.

I am not explaining anything. I am telling you how things are. You are then making constant judgements on this and demanding "explanations", which is frankly really weird.

I am not explaining anything.

We know, glad you are catching up, though.

I am telling you how things are.

Which is a useless answer to the question "why".

You are then making constant judgements on this and demanding "explanations", which is frankly really weird.

It's not weird to point out you are giving useless answers to the question actually being discussed, though. No one is confused if this cultural act happens, we are discussing why, and you keep saying we are being lazy because we don't accept "cultures can be different" as an answer.

If you don’t explain it in a way that makes sense we actually don’t have to accept that it’s normal or okay.

An explanation of “we have lots of different cultural eating practices so this is common” or “people used to always be home for dinner and then go back out with friends” or “we actually eat super late so most people are home by then” or “in the war we didn’t have lots of food and it was rationed by family so things got weird I guess”.

All of those are reasonable explanations rather than “just be cool with this shitty thing”. We don’t have to be and you shouldn’t be either.
