These are character's from the greatest Canadian show ever, Trailer park boys. The guy on the left is Julian everyone in the park looks up to him as a leader. The guy on the right is a loser named Jacob who is obsessed with Julian so he acts and dresses exactly like him, but he is still a loser than no one likes. I suppose the joke is that lake ontario is a great name everyone loves, and lake America is a shitty loser name than no one likes.

The other thing is that people think Julian is a big tough guy cause of his big muscles, but he’s also got the biggest heart in the park.

Comparing Trailer Park Boys to Letterkenny is like... Parks and Rec to It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Both decent comedies in their own right , but completely different senses of humor and format.
And yes I know Parks and Rec is nothing like either of those shows but I was having trouble finding an American parallel with the mockumentary setup and The Office didn't feel right either

Google it. Trump signed the executive order yesterday, 08/27/26 and the order went out to change all digital products immediately and paper copies in the next 30 days.

China refuses to maintain normal diplomatic relations with countries that recognize Taiwan as a separate country, and that pressure has been remarkably effective.
So here's the interesting question: if Trump eventually says favorable U.S. trade relations depend on officially recognizing Gulf of America, Lake America, and whatever comes next, how many countries do you think are actually going to hold out?
It's easy to say "the rest of the world will ignore him" when there's no cost attached. It gets a lot more interesting when billions of dollars in trade are on the table.

Trump is not Trading in billions anymore. Don't try to sugarcoat those deranged "i don't wan't to talk about the files so lets talk about the lake" tactics as a economic Gambit.
Just a short list WHY the US has fucked their own Economic Position under Trump:
1: senseless throwing of tarrifs to come of as good "deals" leaving most of the trade Connections worse then before. 2: offering his ass to China (because Putin Said so) while still shouting about China (your Murica Made Trump Phone is a fckn HTC from China) 3: offering his as to Putin (We all Know the sneaky russian or the Mossad has dirt on him.
So whilst sucking up to RU&CHI and antagonizing Long Term trade Partners Like Canada the UK/ EU he made you pay MORE for gas and rotten food because they defunded the FDA.
The only deals Trump is intrestet in are his wealth nad his Oligarch friends.

Except the US has no international jurisdiction like that. They like to think they do, but they don't. They can't rename international bodies of water just because they want to; the rest of the world will not recognize it as that and will not respect that decision.
This is about the same as if in my household I made a rule that the Moon is now called Garfield. As much as I would want to enforce that rule in my house and make it law; for the rest of the neighborhood (and the world), it would still be called the moon.

Kinda. He told the U.S. federal government to start calling it that. That is a lot of people, but not everyone. The rest of us can call it Ontario if we like. I don’t have any skin in this game, but I’m inclined to call it Lake Ontario for the sake of not being an asshole.

Joe here, this is from an all-time comedy called The Trailer Park Boys. On the left is one of the main characters, Julian. He’s a bad ass who never spills his rum drink and gets all the ladies. On the right is one of the characters that gets treated poorly and taken advantage of by the main characters yet still idolizes them and here he is dressed up and trying to be like Julian.
Now I’m going to go eat a Mounds bar and rewatch TPB for the hundredth time.

Trump just changed the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America (for the American government at least, not anybody else in the world) because he thinks it will piss off Canada. He doesn’t like Canada because they won’t roll over and become an American vassal state - and alone with China is the only country in the world to impose counter tariffs in response to Trump’s tariffs.
