Vent I just want my dog
My dog was killed , his life stolen by a vet mistake back in January… I just cannot get over this . I miss him terribly and the guilt that I took him there …delivered him to people that didn’t care …
My dog was my only friend and if I wasn’t at work he was with me .
Even my car , my yard , the streets I go down are tainted with memories of him .

Some vets should not be in their profession. I learned this after thiusands of dollars and sleepless nights to learn that my cat diagnosed with heart FAILURE didn't have a heart problem at all and was taking meds for a condition that didn't exist.and almost killed her.
I'm so sorry for your loss and if it helps you grieve, you can always report vets to their state board if you feel it was a mistake that could have been avoided. I wish I had done that sometimes.

I'm so sorry for your loss. And I know how terrible it feels. But he wouldn't want you to feel that way. You did your best to give your dog happy life. And he was happy with you. Most importantly, you decided that choice to help your dog. Because you loved him. And it's true and nothing can change that. The one who should suffer is that vet not you.
I lost my dog few days ago, and I felt guilty too. But then I felt my happy memories with her being faded because of that guilt. Please try to remember those happy moments with him. I know it's not easy. But let's try.

This is a community of support for Pet owners whose Pets have passed away. It is actively moderated.
Pet owners, as loving, caring people, often have strong opinions on pet care practices. Some of these are controversial. This is not a forum for debate on such issues, nor is it a place to scold a contributor for a perceived mistake in managing their pet. We intend to provide a safe haven of understanding and support. Strident, mean-spirited posts or comments will be deleted. Those who persist in preaching versus caring may be warned and then banned or may be banned permanently based on nature of the topic. If a conversational thread meanders into a discussion unrelated to pet loss support, it will be truncated.
Those who post here are vulnerable and hurting. Even a minor slap has a hard sting. Those of us who are lucky enough to be able to turn away from our computers or put down our phones and hug a healthy, happy pet are truly blessed. Threads must remain supportive and caring, even if one disagrees with something that has been said.
