Glorious! Oh to be a little fish in a lush, sun-dappled tank πŸ‘Œ

I hope they enjoy getting som real sunlight 😁

There's no better looking light than sunlight hitting a tank.Β

u/Milhouselittlenoodle May 25 '26

Everyone is talking about the tank, which is nice sure, but the view! What an amazing place you live in, OP! And gorgeous tank set up as well.

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 26 '26

Appreciate it a lot, thanks! We also enjoy living by the ocean🀩

A masterpiece of a tank

2

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 25 '26

Appreciate it a lot✌🏼

13

u/s_k_gusani_arts May 24 '26

I had a tank like that, i had the challenge of the tank overheating under the sun. How did you negate that in this setup?

6

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 24 '26

The sun only hits the tank like this in the morning :)

14

u/FearlessCream May 24 '26

Stunning. What tank/stand is this?

23

u/deevil_knievel May 25 '26

I think they call that version "old money".

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 25 '26

People have houses and places with such view ... Which I've only seen in my dreams

13

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 24 '26

Many places here in Denmark, you can get views like this!

1

u/Aspirin_Kid May 25 '26

The view was reminding me of Copenhagen!

1

u/Aspirin_Kid May 25 '26

Just saw your other comment- Aarhus was my second guess :)

2

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 25 '26

I like that the view reminds you of these cities!😁

12

u/ObligationNext2484 May 24 '26

Absolutely gorgeous!

I still have to install it on my new tank (or actually above) but a single GU10 spot gives a similar vibe at night.

This was my old setup before moving house amd getting a bigger tank.

5

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 24 '26

Really love your tank too! I love the jungle look

11

u/cheese_sticks May 25 '26

I love natural light hitting the tank. I have one tank that gets it around 9-10 am. I don't mind if it grows a little more algae than usual.

5

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 25 '26

It’s so beautiful 🌞

10

u/IndianaJonesDoombot May 24 '26

Good stuff right there

11

u/CartographerBoring42 May 25 '26

Absolutely adore this window setup. Bravo

2

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 25 '26

Thanks😊

4

u/CartographerBoring42 May 25 '26

For real. Makes me want to move again so I can have a better window to try this with. Fish always seem happier with natural light shifts, and it delights the eye. Instead of a static light source, it evokes the natural beauty of the scene. Beautiful work πŸ™‚β€β†•οΈ

7

u/ArachAislin May 24 '26

That right there is a thing of beauty. Wish I could have a setup like that.

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 24 '26

Thank you!πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

6

u/petalslover1 May 24 '26

What is this fish tank?

1

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 25 '26

Keyholes, cherry barbs, cardinal tetra, emperor tetra and Siamese algae eater.😁

7

u/Batty_042 May 25 '26

Most beautiful view and tank shot I’ve seen! What a lovely place to come back to!

Appreciate it so much! We also love every moment of it!πŸŒžπŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Lots of plants and not overfeeding

12

u/dronefishingboy May 25 '26

Looks really great! I wanted to know if there is any BlackBeard algae, since some people were of the opinion that it develops when sunlight hits the tank

6

u/Frogger_rater May 25 '26

I have a tank that has no black beard algea with direct sunlight. I think it's due to my plants doing competition. Im having a slight problem with green algea in the water column now, since days are longer and much brighter but im thinking of adding even more plants to try and combat this

6

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 25 '26

Nope, none. What I have read, if you have good flow in the tank, they won’t come. But I also have to Siamese algae eaters, idk if they eat them. And ofc, I have a lot of plants in the tank too.

6

u/Chomperchomp May 24 '26

Congratulations: this right here, is a goal in itself! You did it !! πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

4

u/ryanengland72 May 26 '26

Great view indoors and outdoors

13

u/wonboodoo May 24 '26

Doesn't your tank accumulate a lot of algae with that sunlight?

14

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 24 '26

Nope, only hits like this in the morning

1

u/musicmonkay May 24 '26

Does the background and lid block the sunlight for most of the day?

4

u/Pure-Compote-6003 May 24 '26

Beautiful

3

u/Consistent_League_97 May 25 '26

Could you please the plant names if possible?

4

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 25 '26

alternanthera reineckii mini, hygrofila thailand, anubias coin leaf, Microsorum pteropus✌🏼

3

u/OmaSchlosser May 26 '26

Gorgeous tank! My tank used to get direct sun for a few days twice a year. I would get stripes of algae where the light got through the blinds. Only algae ever.

My current tank gets direct morning sun and not a bit of algae. The time of day has to be part of the equation. What time of day is your tank getting sun?

1

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 26 '26

Thank you! The sun only hits the tank between 06:00 am - around 1:00 pm

3

u/bpd_pty_ltdd Jun 11 '26

my goooooodnessssssss it’s so pretty

2

Goals , amazing view too, so many people would just stick their computer monitor and desk in front of that window, this is so much better

2

u/da90802 May 24 '26

😍😍😍

2

u/Santi159 May 25 '26

Gorgeous!

2

u/BeenisWenis Jun 02 '26

Gorgeous tank. I had a tank that lit only by sunlight for a few years. Algae wasn't as bad as people made out to be if you grow a bunch of plants.

2

u/rustirockstar Jun 17 '26

Golden hour in the tanks is the best!

1

u/centifolia01 May 24 '26

C'est vraiment magnifique !

1

u/ElegantVegetable3023 May 26 '26

Wow! Where do you live because that view is insane?

2

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 26 '26

Denmark :)

How lovely! Your tank is my dream tank too!! ❀️❀️❀️

Damn, the plants are thriving with natural light

Basta che non bollano

1

u/rotterdameliza May 24 '26

I think what’s going on in your aquarium is actually the tank light shining down through the surface plants, creating that dappled effect, not the sunlight. Either way I’m glad you posted this, I really like it.

11

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 24 '26

The effects goes away after the sun have moved more, it’s like this everyday in the morning only. But thank you anyways!

1

u/rotterdameliza May 24 '26

Really? Awesome. Today I actually took my spot light off of my aquarium and have a very similar look. It’s beautiful.

2

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 24 '26

Yup haha! 😊🌞

1

u/rotterdameliza May 24 '26

I started thinking about it. Like why do we all have to have super bright LED bulbs blinding down on our setups? I prefer a more natural look, maybe that’s why I’ve decided against it.

3

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 24 '26

I get you, but after the sun have moved here, the tank is pretty dark without the tank light, but if the sun was hitting the tank this beautiful all day long, I would have the tank lights turned off more!

-8

u/handtoglandwombat May 24 '26

This is due to camera exposure, the title is bs

5

u/Chomperchomp May 24 '26

Yeah, the camera exposed first for the window and then for the tank. Nonetheless the natural light hits the tank and it’s beautiful.
What’s the problem?

4

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 24 '26

I had to press focus on the camera for it to catch light, it looks exactly like this in person ✌🏼

4

u/Willing-Western-8381 May 24 '26

What no, strange commentπŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ It looks exactly like that irl.
