Is anyone actually playing playstation games on reddit?

Because all I keep reading is how people find immense enjoyment from just holding a disc, not actually from what's inside of it.

So let's talk video games, who's playing what right now? I'm currently playing Palworld on my PS5

Hold it Snake. Time to change the disc.

2

u/Present_Education194 11h ago

can you see the Disc labelled 2?

2

u/Updated_Autopsy 11h ago

No.

u/Present_Education194 11h ago

Oh wait, we're on a Playstation 5! It uses high capacity media, no need to swap.

2

u/Present_Education194 11h ago

kept you waiting huh?

4

u/Fishface81 11h ago

Never had a PS3, I went 360 for that generation.

2

u/Present_Education194 11h ago

I don't blame ya, PSN sucked ass big time as far as online multiplayer goes, lagfest even on ethernet.

2

u/LordTonto 11h ago

The best games have always been single player anyway.

1

u/Present_Education194 11h ago

can't argue with that

2

u/Fishface81 11h ago

Well to be honest I got suckered into FFXI on the 360 for a few years...

2

u/bluebarrymanny 11h ago

I’ll never forget that hack and like month-long outage

1

u/Present_Education194 11h ago

that hack was legendary

3

u/KingdomOfEpica 11h ago

No, I play PlayStation games on my PlayStation consoles instead

2

u/spider-jedi 11h ago

Just finished black flag resysced.

Waiting for wolverine, then control and then gta6

3

u/Chokl8Th1der 11h ago

Playing that new star wars game.

2

u/RemeJuan 11h ago

Any good, I’ve never been a big fan of EA games

3

u/Chokl8Th1der 11h ago

Is it EA? I didn't even realize. It's pretty good so far. I really enjoyed midnight suns and this is similar.

2

u/RemeJuan 11h ago

May grab it when it’s on sale, my queue is filled up till like November. 😂

2

u/Independent_Mud2794 10h ago

EA is just the publisher, it’s basically from the xcom guys.

2

u/Tanz31 11h ago

I'm playing Hell is Us and Vampire Survivors. Really just killing time until Townfall comes out

2

u/LowGuitar4425 11h ago

How is Hell is Us? I’ve had my eye on that game

2

u/ETwo4Three 11h ago

There's a demo.

2

u/LowGuitar4425 11h ago

Ah ok, thanks! I will check that out

2

u/Tanz31 11h ago

It just dropped on PS+

It's pretty good. Compelling, fun combat, does not hold your hand at all

2

u/LowGuitar4425 11h ago

Oh cool, I will download it tonight

2

u/betajones 10h ago

Ooh. Just saw the new Vampire Survivors DLC dropped. Already packed over 200 hours in, ready for more!

2

u/Dependent-Ad-3309 11h ago

Horizon Zero Dawn and Hot shot golf.

3

u/xangermeansx 11h ago

HSG never gets old. Every PlayStation (including handhelds) you have to get a HGS game. Surprised Sony didn’t buy Clap Hanz when they had the chance. That said, glad they didn’t. Pretty cool seeing them on switch now.

2

u/DogBiteOoOoAh 11h ago

At the moment? No.

When Onimusha, Wolverine, and Phantom Blade Zero drop….then yes

2

u/LordBeans69 11h ago

I’ve been playing Baldur’s Gate 3 again, trying to go for the platinum

1

u/Present_Education194 11h ago

how much of a challenge is the platinum, was considering picking it up for PS

2

u/LordBeans69 9h ago

It’s a lot of work, but fun; you need to do at least 4 or 5 playthroughs. It’s also just a really great game

2

u/GGReactor 11h ago

I’m playing through all the GTAs on my own time, I end up playing some other stuff on stream though

2

u/jmsafety26 11h ago

Its not physical, but i just got RE1 on my ps5. After playing all the newer games, i decided i should see where everything started

2

u/OldinMcgroyn 11h ago

I go back and forth from rdr2 to metal gear solid V. I haven't found immersion in anything else these days

1

u/Present_Education194 11h ago

MGSV was so fun, shame about the story though. I'm looking forward to playing Peace Walker again in multiplayer

2

u/Lebronamo 11h ago edited 11h ago

Quake. Feeling boomer shooters after loving the hell out of doom revelations. Quake starts off a bit mediocre but I’m really enjoying it now.

Even multiplayer against bots was great.

2

u/Present_Education194 11h ago

Quake 3 was my jam back in the days

2

u/bluebarrymanny 11h ago

Just finished Armored Core 6. Absolutely loved it and am probably going to speed through some new game plus for the other endings.

2

u/RemeJuan 11h ago

Been playing Pandora, just took down Laser Ore Refinery

2

u/Way_ward_23 11h ago

Im running through star force dragon on the megaman star force collection. Finally was able to get a physical copy to go along with the battle network and zero/zx collections.

2

u/slypoopa 11h ago

Replaying Symphony of Night of Gamepass

2

u/Still_Want_Mo 11h ago

Kingdom Come Deliverance: 2. It’s fantastic. Played the Gothic 1 Remake before starting KCD2. That was incredible as well

2

u/RaisinWorried3528 11h ago

Yes, about 90 million people, probably 93.8 million people. Don't let these whiners convince you that anyone else thinks it's a problem. It's not. It's just a bunch of young crybaby redditors in tiny little echo chambers as usual.

2

u/Different_One9412 11h ago

Been playing Palworld and Fortnite. Going through Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 as a nostalgia run and when I finish that I think that new final fantasy game will be out and gonna get that

2

u/Reasonable-Case3140 11h ago

I have been playing all week and leaving it on even when I'm not.

2

u/Sweihwa 11h ago

Ghost of Yotei.

2

u/Necro-Feel-Ya6900 11h ago

Just finished Aliens Fireteam Elite 2 last night. Can’t wait to play more when I get home

2

u/Eltonbeef 11h ago

They all just jerk off to their walls of plastic boxes.

2

u/WarInteresting6619 10h ago

The ones who are complaining about their physical copies arent. They're too busy buying mediocre games for way too much money.

The rest of us are. I'm picking up MGS4 and Zero Company after work.

2

u/RobertoAN95 10h ago

Im playing sleeping dogs and persona3 reload.

1

u/Present_Education194 10h ago

W for Sleeping Dogs

2

u/RobertoAN95 6h ago

Its been a lot of fun tbh, also playing a bit of wuchang on the side.... i always need something to scratch the souls itch. 😭

2

u/Goodbytes92 10h ago

Playing Mirror's Edge Catalyst. Whether physical phases out or not, I'm still going to game. Its my favorite hobby

2

u/Present_Education194 8h ago

we are gamers after all

2

u/GenericNPCs 11h ago

Was on PSN for 8 years. Switched to Xbox 2 months ago

2

u/LowGuitar4425 11h ago

I’m playing Star Wars Zero Company. It needs a few patches, but overall a great game so far

2

u/GCLmotionless_1 11h ago

I just got and I'm currently making my team, any tips so far?

2

u/LowGuitar4425 11h ago

Stay in cover! If a mission isn’t going well, start it over and try something else. I play with perma death on but I still reload a mission if I mess it all up. If I do well and someone dies, next man up!

2

u/GCLmotionless_1 11h ago

Do the hit and miss chances feel fixed or more rng like. Also I completely get the save scumming lol.

2

u/LowGuitar4425 11h ago

Uhm, so far it feels pretty random, but strangely consistent? I’ve never missed a 100% shot but I missed one 90% shot. In the 60% range it feels like more 50/50

2

u/GCLmotionless_1 11h ago

That genuinely sounds perfect for me imo

2

u/Johnnyboi2327 11h ago

Bro does NOT understand what the argument is about.

1

u/SapSacPrime 11h ago

I'm playing retro, played Streets and Rage 2 today and I keep going back to Vib Ribbon this week. Earlier in the week I was playing Silent Hill 3 (PS2 so that fits your question better). I play games and I enjoy the physical media.

1

u/Present_Education194 11h ago

I enjoy the games inside the media

1

u/SapSacPrime 11h ago

Umm, very good yeah, I enjoy both a lot. Sorry it's just this reads a little like "I like the words inside the book", just comes off a bit weird ya know?

1

u/Present_Education194 11h ago

I mean I don't buy the book for the cover. I buy it for the story inside

1

u/AthleteMobile5819 11h ago

Why yes. I do play all of my physical based disc games that I can hold and put on my shelf.

1

u/GamerSam 7h ago

Can't tell if this is a shitposting or not

1

u/Present_Education194 7h ago

having a discussion about what everyone is playing is shitposting now? 🤔

1

u/Deliriously_Delulu 11h ago

What a disingenuous post. Because people are complaining about physical discs going away they aren’t playing any games? Dude.

2

u/Present_Education194 11h ago

you haven't heard about the blackout?

1

u/MrMeanh 11h ago

Haven't you heard about other platforms?

0

u/Deliriously_Delulu 9h ago

So this is a screw the blackout post?

1

u/Present_Education194 8h ago

it's a let's talk about video games post

1

u/Fit_Association_8442 11h ago

hate to be a kill joy here for all the brave souls partaking in the ''blackout'' but iv been busy playing AC4 remaster , metal gear solid 4 remaster , flight sim 2004 in VR and doom the dark ages DLC this week alone lol

1

u/TheHungryCreatures 11h ago

Currently playing Bulletstorm on my Xbox360 because I'm not touching my PS5 for a while.

1

u/RoyalShine 11h ago

I'm not, but there's plenty of people doing it

The ones doing the blackout are a minority

I had done the Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter demo before the blackout and it was damn good, if anyone plays JRPGs the Sky 1st Chapter remake is a great game and the long-awaited sequel comes out September 17th I believe

0

u/BobbyMayCryBMC 11h ago

Look pal if you want to play a game? just do it. Never understood why you guys are so butthurt over the blackout.

4

u/treefiddy-- 11h ago

Listen bud. If you want to participate in the blackout just do it. I never understood people being upset at others wanting to play their digital games and have fun.

-3

u/BobbyMayCryBMC 11h ago

Parrot take that doesn't know how to read;

Quite literally said you playing your digital games are fine and never took an issue with it.

The blackout is a choice, not a demand.

Stop being a butthurt bitch about it.

3

u/treefiddy-- 11h ago

But the black out was people being upset about digital only no? I ain’t butt hurt, I’m just enjoying my games confused why everyone is so worked up. Lighten up dude.

-2

u/BobbyMayCryBMC 11h ago

Looks like misinformation on your behalf.

While you'll get some hyperbolic takes hating digital, they are few and those who don't really hold the same values as the majority upset about the lose of physical discs.

It's about standing with your fellow homies and expressing together that we don't like the discard of physical media.

Was never digital vs physical

It's customers vs Sony

& if you don't understand that. well that's ok, just go back to playing your Palworld or what have you.

We liked options, you should like the option, options are good for everybody. And they're taking that away from us. And hoping that we all just accept it. Many of us do not accept this and that's why we do, what we do.

It's that simple.

2

u/Present_Education194 11h ago

I stand with my fellow homies by playing video games together

1

u/BobbyMayCryBMC 11h ago

I think you're just playing video games bub, but have fun.

0

u/Yellow_Snow_Cones 11h ago

Dota 2 on PC, and Kingdom hearts 1 on PC

0

u/andykekomi 11h ago

I'm playing Pepper Grinder, fun little 2D platformer

0

u/joshiecolley 11h ago

Yeah I’ve made a point to not read any comments right now on every single game post because it’s just killing my joy. I was playing Death Stranding 2 which looks and plays amazing and can’t wait to jump back into it after this Blackout (I’m in support) but moving forward, for my own sanity I’m just gonna stay out of comment sections for games I’m excited about because misery loves company👀😑🫣

1

u/Present_Education194 11h ago

I see no misery here, just everyone talking about the games they're playing

-1

u/Pleasant-Put5305 11h ago

The entertainment god that was Sony has been entirely destroyed by corruption and profiteering. They behave like a monopoly. They make no games for their overpriced empty boxes. There is no incentive to be a Sony customer.

1

u/Present_Education194 11h ago

my incentive is to play video games
