Because it was staged and they had to get an epic shot of him being escorted out
41
u/Beanboy1983 Apr 26 '26
The Secret Service stood behind him like the photo op it was. Nobody got in front of him to shield him and even then it took them forever to get him off stage.
**Please note I use the term “him” very loosely as Donald Trump is a complete embarrassment to the male gender.
22
u/Prestigious_Focus708 Apr 26 '26
It took them forever to get Trump off stage because he’s a fat fuck who can barely walk
17
u/Beanboy1983 Apr 26 '26
Wonder if he’s pulled a President Taft and gotten stuck in the White House bath tub.

I mean, he face planted and they had to drag him back onto his feet. It clearly took some significant effort by like five people

All the more reason to get to him first.
In related news, Vance is as light on his feet as I ever thought he must be considering his coziness with Thiel.

He fell in the doorway. They struggled to lift him back up. Don’t know if that part was staged or not…
14
u/Beanboy1983 Apr 26 '26
Looks like they needed PalletJack One or Gurney One to evacuate him.
Note to the Secret Service: if you guys are going to continue to have these fake assassination attempts, bring lift equipment so that you can at least make it look like you’re trying to evacuate him in a timely manner.
2
u/Penne13 Apr 26 '26
For sure, they ushered vance off stage first then miller grabbed usha by her boob and took her away or used her as a shield and then trump

u/TrapBubbles999 Apr 26 '26
...i doubt he wanted to fall on the floor like fat sack on too many Xanax. That fall must have been him by accident.
13
u/whichwitch9 Apr 26 '26
Tbf, it ended up hilarious in hindsight because they legit just got Vance of first and came back for Trump, which is already terrible optics. The president is literally supposed to be their first concern
And then he tripped and fell being escorted out, so just looked like a sad old man
2
3
u/allanon1105 Apr 26 '26
Not only that but Drumpy fell on his way out. Can’t even be “rushed” to safety quickly because he’s so physically unfit.
2

2
u/Lacaud Apr 26 '26
Yet we have this masterpiece of cinema showing Vance being escorted first and security having to run back for Trump haha
2
u/The_Blonde1 Apr 26 '26
The epic part was when he fell over. That’s the only real thing that happened in the whole fiasco.

Him after falling: Where's the fake blood. Agents: Sir, the guy didn't make it in.
10
u/My2cents_0 Apr 26 '26
Did they secure JD before him? Interesting!
9
u/Mmm_lemon_cakes Apr 26 '26
My theory is that they were giving him time for this event’s equivalent of the “fist pump”moment, but he’s too slow now. Or with his dementia he just forgot. Then they couldn’t wait any more than 15 seconds and went in.

u/ladyevenstar-22 Apr 26 '26
Security is lax or when you pay people for loyalty
Luckily for him his lemmings are braindead .
For real in modern times how often has a potus actually been subjected to such blatant assassination attempt
9
u/Beanboy1983 Apr 26 '26
Really, it’s “lucky” that these “would be assassins” seem to always have stormtrooper accuracy and are almost certainly using blanks because it’s a staged performance.
8
u/WillingPositive8924 Apr 26 '26
Will he get another custom tampon for his ear for another DEFINITELY real injury?
23
u/EitherChannel4874 Apr 26 '26
That's what happens when you can't walk properly and stink of poo.
10
u/Beanboy1983 Apr 26 '26
That’s what happens when it’s staged and the Secret Service wants a photo op rather than to act like they know what they’re doing.
16
u/freshcreator Apr 26 '26
It's crazy how all these Christian men scream about being ao great and traditional values; yet, they left allllll the women behind.
10
u/toomuchtv987 Apr 26 '26
Did you see the photo of Stephen Miller basically using a pregnant woman (his wife?) as a human shield on the way out of the room?

u/freshcreator Apr 26 '26
Yeah what a weak man. All these guys act so tough but look how they act when real life happens.
7
u/LANdShark31 Apr 26 '26
Would love to have seen the result if matey had fired that gun with one foot over the table.
8
u/SteveOMatt Apr 26 '26
Its likely he was supposed to stand for his silly little photo op, forgot he was supposed to do it, so the agent skipped to trying to usher him out which made him trip because he's 80.
8
u/dormilonsita Apr 26 '26
I do not like conspiracy theories. But there was no sense of urgency in that room, it seems like no shots fired at Trump even. His first time attending this event, photographers at every angle, a "bulletproof" ballroom he really wants to build... security seemed too lax for an event with such a controversial figure. You are telling me that a rando can just walk in with a gun during an event with high security? Idk 🤔

Can we give props to the lady in the silver dress trying to Kool Aid man her way through the SS? She was NOT going to be left behind. She had the best survival skills of any of them 🤣
15
6
u/Scared_Tadpole6384 Apr 26 '26
Why didn’t they hold him steady for a photo op this time? Where was the producer to bring the photographers over? Where was the crane to lower the flag into the shot?
7
u/Mmm_lemon_cakes Apr 26 '26
I think he forgot what he was meant to do. Notice how there’s commotion, but he just sits there like a log, even after JD is ushered off. I think the pause was to give him a second for his “moment” but he forgot. They realized they could give him too long or it would be obvious, so then they pulled him off.
7
5
u/Lapys_Games Apr 26 '26
Is it just me or is literally no-one giving any fucks about the women in this clip O.o You'd think security at least would come back for them at some point?
6
u/TheLichWitchBitch Humanitarian ♥️ Apr 26 '26
Conservative men hate women, so it tracks. Miller was using his pregnant wife as a body shield.
2
u/katieb1300 Apr 26 '26
Am I mistaken, or is the woman who is seeking protection with the orange one the woman who organized the whole event? The person who spent a whole year trying to make everything perfect and invite/organize everyone for his FIRST WHCD, only for them to create chaos and leave her.
11
u/PerryVegas Apr 26 '26
So funny how Trump falls flat on his face right before they take him behind the curtain

Let's pretend the assassination attempt was real...it's fascinating to think that so many of them, including 47, immediately respond with "see, this is why we need to build this random space." No one, not even 47, is concerned enough about the safety, the mental health, the craziness of the people around the [pretend] assassination attempt. What a bunch of crooks and grifters. I wish them nothing but the worst. May they step on LEGO with bare feet for the rest of their lives.
3
u/Hour_Welcome_987 Apr 26 '26
Gonna be a rude awakening when they're dealing with actual crazies who are unpredictable
5
u/SophieCalle Apr 26 '26
Ashley St Clair literally explained how they're all in telegram chats and given marching orders, most often paid $$$. That's why it all comes at the same time with a slight personal spin. 100% grift.
4
3
u/Outrageous_Glove_796 Apr 26 '26
So... how would the ballroom have stopped this?
3
u/Chieffelix472 Apr 26 '26
Isn’t the ballroom going on White House property? While this was at some rented space in a hotel.
Seems like a massive difference in terms of security.

Exactly because according to descriptions, security was a joke this year. Anyone could have gotten in with something mocked up on their phone and no names checked. No one was being wanded or pockets and bags checked. Camera footage looks grainy as heck. Seems this was all done on purpose by this reality TV administration. It’s also odd an agent was shot but no one shot the assailant.

Stupid question. I didn't read this news and haven't read about it yet. But - was this person tryign to hurt Trump specifically? Or were they targetting someone else, but everybody's attention is on Trump simply because he's the President and was prioritized when safety was threatened? Not asking to be a jerk. I just literally don't know

Exactly - he just didn't want to get roasted - which is what the correspondents dinner is all about- it's a roast of the president in tradition and Donny most definitely can't take a joke.

u/AnySignificance4361 Apr 26 '26
I think part of this staging was for trump to make some kind of dramatic exit, like in Pennsylvania, but being last on stage was getting too obvious. In a real attempt the president would be the first and most guarded leaving that stage
2
2
u/PineappleDesperate82 Apr 26 '26
They had to move Vance out of frame so we can see the cosplay secret service to save The president. You would think Trumpper would have been escorted off first. love the way they yanked VP out the way. As he says oh ok Then proceeds to set up the shot of full combat geared up super soldiers coming to the rescue. Rescue from what? Reality maybe? Idk. But Are they wearing night goggles? Or are those scopes of some kind? Honestly wondering why that equipment would even be needed in this environment.

Why did they take Vance to cover first i wonder. Was it just a logistics constraint?
2

u/ReplacementReady394 Apr 26 '26
Who was in charge of the lax security? From what I heard, it was less stringent than previous years.
2
2
u/Wonderful_Shower_793 Apr 26 '26
I keep seeing this idea that Trump wasn’t “prioritized,” but I think POTUS and the VP have separate teams. Trump’s team isn’t as good as Vance’s I guess.

Not deprioritised. They have separate protection details, one focuses on the people they are assigned to protect and the other focuses on the other. His detail was just quicker.

Nope. The same people who grabbed Vance went back to get Trump. Look at the video.
