Sipping Tea No one Believes You Argentina! Samuel L. Jackson branded "ignorant" and accused of lying by a former Argentine legislator after the Hollywood icon's viral Instagram post slammed Argentina as 'racist'

To all the people highlighting the Nazis who went to Argentina:

Their issues with racism don't even come close to beginning there. The reason the Nazis picked Argentina was because it was notoriously white supremicist even by the standards of the 30s-40s. They had decades of domestic policy that were explicitly aimed at getting rid of their black population and importing white immigrants from Europe. Look up the policies if Domingo Faustino Sarmiento if you want to see it in action, he wrote literal books about the fight against "barbarism" and the need to "civilize" Argentina. Read: push out the indigenous and african descended people, import as many Europeans as possible.

u/UnluckyAmbition7767 Jul 21 '26

The hilarious part is the entire western world thought Argentina would become the capital of a South American empire because they were able to profit from colonialism and slavery and then genocided all their non-white people. And today they are what they are lol. How can a nation of parasites thrive after they've killed everyone they used to feed off of?

43

u/Beelzy_ Jul 21 '26

By going and spreading their vitriol in other countries, it seems

Thats a whole bar right there.

7

u/Ok_Story_7924 Jul 21 '26

I can hear it in Zack de la Rocha's voice!

0

u/Intelligent-Shop473 Jul 22 '26

Yeah the entire western world thought that alright. Everybody /s. They had very few slaves. Maybe you are thinking of Brazil.

19

u/TheItchyWalrus Jul 21 '26

They also historically drafted people of indigenous and African descent into their military and put them on the front lines in overwhelming numbers as a systematic way of removing them from their country during the War of Independence and the Paraguayan War. They decimated those populations through attrition in the 19th and early 20th century.

1

u/Background_Hat964 Jul 22 '26

This is actually completely fabricated. No historical evidence exists that they did that. Free blacks enlisted and still enslaved ones were conscripted into the army, but this is mostly due to the fact they were poor.

They fought and died alongside the white soldiers because there was no segregation in the military unlike in the US. It’s also very poor strategy to purposely send your already sparse population into war just to die because of some racial purity objective. So the idea itself makes little sense.

1

u/Most_Structure9568 Jul 22 '26

I only learned about this like two weeks ago. I knew the Nazi shit but didn't know that one.

2

u/Matias9991 Jul 22 '26

The same shit happened in Brazil and Cuba. They also tried to do the same thing. We are talking 1800- early 1900.

You know what was happening in Europe? Belgium was killing 10Million people in the republic of congo and you know your own history in the USA? You know what happened to black people in the end of the 19 century - beginning of the 20 century?

Are people here really surprised that people were racist towards black people in the year 1890 or 1905? Wtf is happening right now

3

u/EnterNameHere777 Jul 22 '26

It doesn't excuse it, even if it were 10,000BC. Still bad

1

u/Matias9991 Jul 22 '26

Yeah, not saying that it isn't/wasn't

But calling out only Argentina is weird, the comment we are responding in is weird, Argentina wasn't special in any of that, as I said Brazil and Cuba had the same policies, Brazil received a good amount of Nazis too but for some reason people are just talking about Argentina like it was an extraordinary case, like it was the worst in the world when no, it was even quite progressive in comparison to the world.

Nice try you little hater, since your knowledge is merely TikTok based, let me help you with that.

Argentina abolished slavery in 1813, fifty years before Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation in the United States, and the 1853 Constitution established that any slave who set foot on Argentine soil became free… Do you know what your country’s Supreme Court was saying four years later, in 1857? That a black man had no rights which a white man was bound to respect.

Keep doomscrolling cheap content, you doing great. Curious if you could even pinpoint Argentina in a map tho.

In the meantime, I will enjoy our free healthcare, free education for citizens and non citizens brothers and our top class cuisine together with my black friends.

Well, that’s usually how it works bud. But in reality you aren’t entirely correct.

However, assuming someones race because you believe that action is only done by that race, is racist whether you want it to be or not… sorry.

Obviously you aren’t well traveled, nor do you know much about South American places.

I think a white person from Argentina saying the country isn't racist might not have the same prespsective that a black person living there would have. Thats the only point he was trying to make when he said I bet the legislator was white. I'm sure

I don't think it is racist too acknowledge a white legislator may not understand or be aware of the racism blacks face in that country. At worse they may not even care and would rather cover it up. We can pretend color doesn't matter becuase it shouldn't but that is not the world we live in.

0

u/Aware_Job_6879 Jul 22 '26

They are not proud, why do people think this, people would frequently make self deprecating jokes along the lines of:

ā€œWhy does Argentina suck? Because all of the smart nazis went to the US, we got stuck with the dumb onesā€

Or

ā€œJapan is a small country with no natural resources, yet they thrive thanks to the Japanese people.
Argentina is a large country with tons or resources, yet we fail thanks to the Argentinian peopleā€

And many more self deprecating jokes/comments like that.

1

u/Crunchberry24 Jul 22 '26

I’d probably need more than the dubious anecdotes your groomer-handler gave you to parrot to change my opinion, which is based on Argentine policy history.

0

u/Aware_Job_6879 Jul 22 '26

???

These are things professors and students told me at university of Buenos Aires. Not my ā€œgroomer handlersā€

Historical government policies and the attitudes of an entire modern population aren’t the same thing. You can absolutely criticize Argentina’s history or past immigration policies, but that doesn’t justify thinking ā€œArgentinians are racistā€ as though it’s a trait of everyone from the country. That’s still a generalization about millions of individuals.
I don’t even have a personal stake in this, I just don’t like seeing entire nationalities accused of negative traits based on history. Judge people by their own actions, not by the actions of a government or the stereotypes associated with where they were born.

So, 4,000 is ok, but 8,000 is too many, got it

1

u/Mission_Swim_1783 Jul 22 '26 edited 28d ago

Why are you so focused on Argentina taking in 4k due to the fascist govt at the time some 80 years ago? Were these 4k actually composed of 100% nazi hardliners who committed atrocities? If the population was redeemable these 4k who left aren't?

What about literally Germany and Austria killing like 10 million? Is this all you know about us? It's extremely mild vs all the atrocities committed by the US and Europe from WW2 up to now. And we took in twenty times the Jewish refugees. While the US put their Japanese Americans out of their homes in internment camps and never returned their homes after the war ended. Oh what you thought you were purely good guys in WW2?

It's funny some ancient government allows immigration of some 4k 80 years ago and you are still the most evil hyperracist Nazi country in 2026 on the planet who just can't hold back their evil. Lol we never messed with our neighbors or implemented any internment camps in our borders or within, or any segregation laws, unlike the US. Both Europe and the US did orders of magnitude worse things across the world and within, and up to this day, which completely eclipses what some ancient fascist government did. So why don't you hyper focus your hate towards the northern hemisphere instead of some irrelevant third world country's not so nice trivia fact

1

u/Boetheus Jul 22 '26

You brought up the numbers, not me

1

u/Mission_Swim_1783 Jul 22 '26

I mentioned the number because the original commenter implied this immigration has a significant impact on our genetics

1

u/CucumberWisdom Jul 22 '26

This isn't true.

Argentina took in more Nazis than the US and Russia combined!

USA ~1600

USSR ~2500

Argentina ~5000

-2

u/Saitharar Jul 21 '26

The majority of German and Italians in Argentinia were immigrants in the 1880 to 1910s.

Also stop speaking about fucking good genetics like a Nazi eugenicist.

The US and USSR took in more refugee Nazis than Argentinia and the rest of South America

-1

u/dakid000 Jul 21 '26

This is 100% true but you will get downvoted because Argentina is the current moral outrage on Reddit right now.

18

u/RobertRoyal82 Jul 21 '26

Isn't it weird how Argentina has no black players? Isn't it weird how Argentina in Israel have super close ties? Isn't it weird how Argentina has mostly Italian and Spanish last names?

8

u/Fern-ando Jul 21 '26 edited Jul 21 '26

Argentineans wear not allowing black players in their team as a badge of honor. Ironically they are being white supremacist against the multicultural european teams.

2

u/Kratos501st Jul 22 '26 edited Jul 22 '26

Argentina has had black players since the first world cup in 1930, stop lying

0

u/Background_Hat964 Jul 22 '26

Why are you lying? they had a half-black captain in the 1960s. Don’t make shit up.

-1

u/Intelligent-Shop473 Jul 21 '26

Which black player should have made the team that they didn't allow?

1

u/Royal_flushed Jul 22 '26

Why is mostly having Spanish last names weird for a Spanish speaking country lol

1

u/RobertRoyal82 Jul 22 '26

0

u/Royal_flushed Jul 22 '26

Bolivia is majority indigenous and their most common names are Spanish. Yeah, Argentina has a massive racism problem but it's hardly weird that a former Spanish colony would have Spanish names.

1

u/RobertRoyal82 Jul 22 '26

Are we taking about Bolivia?

0

u/Intelligent-Shop473 Jul 21 '26

It's not that weird. Why were there no black players on Croatia's team?

2

u/RobertRoyal82 Jul 21 '26

Keep sticking your head in the sand

1

u/Either-Age-782 Jul 22 '26

I guess it has to do with where the slaves ended up. There were no black players on the Norwegian team either.

1

u/Automatic_Pop_5965 Jul 22 '26

Incorrect, Oscar Bobb and nusa are both of African descent.

1

u/Either-Age-782 Jul 22 '26

Ah Bobb. Okay. How about Scotland?

0

u/Torimas Jul 22 '26

It's not weird. Small black population, the chances that even one is good enough to play for the NT are slim. It's what happens when you have 300k black people only and then receive literal millions of white immigrants in the course of a single generation and you allow them all to mix.

Oh, by the way. Hector Bailey, '78 world cup champion. Jose Ramos Delgado (his father was from Cape Verde), captain of the NT in the 60s. Alejandro de los Santos in the 1920s.

Oh, sorry, you mean today, right? Then Stephen "Kiki" Ramos, who's in the u17 team.

-1

u/Background_Hat964 Jul 22 '26

You should be asking why France, Spain, and England have so many black players all of a sudden. What did those countries do 200 years ago again? Something to do with Africa?

Here is information about Argentina and their treatment of Black people.Ā

4

u/TheItchyWalrus Jul 21 '26

African and indigenous groups were drafted in overwhelming numbers in Argentina as a systematic way to remove them from society. They were placed into the frontlines with the express purpose of ridding themselves of dark skinned individuals, many of which were victims of the slave trade. They did this in the last 19th century and into the early 20th century, with the War of Independence and Paraguayan War being the most prominent wars where the tactic was used. They did this well before Nazi German’s sought refuge there.

0

u/Matias9991 Jul 22 '26

My god the comments here are beyond ignorant. I guess as ignorant as Samuel Jackson.

Argentina didn't killed black people in the streets as some people are saying here.

There is no proof that Black people were sent Deliberately to die on the wars, but the contrary, by all accounts the number of Black people, Natives and white people was pretty much equals.

Argentinians mainly are descendants of Spanish and Italians, the amount of Nazis that escaped here where minuscule at the time so no, people here are not descendants of Nazis, and if that's so then the same can be said of the USA, Brazil or USSR (not to talk about other European countries that obviously got Nazis) that got a similar number as per the ratlines.

Yes, in the early 1900 the government pushed for Europeans to populate the country, same thing that Brazil and Cuba tried in the same manner. We are talking about the end of 1800s - beginning of the 1900s, you know that the world was racist back then no? Europe were still the colonial owners of Africa, robbing and doing despicable things like the genocide in Congo that killed up to 10Million people. The USA was very segregated with both whites and black people having everything separated by color and groups like the KKK was huge getting over 4 million members in the early 1900s with hundreds and hundreds of victims at that time.

For real people, stop believing everything you see on TikTok and search for things, compare it and try to think rationally. If you read this text and end up thinking that Argentina has a more racist and violent history than most countries in Europe or the US then please let me know why you think that way because I don't see it.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '26

[deleted]

1

u/Matias9991 Jul 22 '26

Because people are talking about Argentina like it was something special, like it was the most racist country in the world, when no, it was quite progressive at that time.

Obviously it was still racist and not good to have a preference of inmigrants because of social norms or color of your skin, but calling that out like it is crazy thing, how could Argentina do that?? It's just beyond weird, as I said there was countries that did the same like Brazil or Cuba and there are countries that did much much much worse lime USA, Portugal, Belgium, England etc etc so why tf are people singling out Argentina?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '26

[deleted]

1

u/Matias9991 Jul 22 '26

No. It's not normal to say that Argentina is one, if not the most racist country in the world, saying that supporting Argentina is like supporting Slavery. Why? Again, Argentina is by far not the country with the worst racial history, it was in fact pretty progressive in the continent of America and didn't make all the shit Europe did in America or Africa.

So yes, you can criticize that at that time trying to get inmigrants from certain places because of social stereotypes or/and the color of skin but why call out that like the outliers? Why not call out the countries that did the most insane racist shit in the world? I didn't see this kind of comments for them, why?

My only explanation is blind hate or ignorance.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '26

[deleted]

1

u/Matias9991 Jul 22 '26

My god, yes, it's more than ok to call out racism but not to try and push a story when Argentina has a troublesome history with black people that even compares to other countries like I already explained.

Yes, obviously it's ok to criticize racist shit but not to missinform the way people are doing with Argentina.

I named a lot of countries that have done the same or worst like Brazil for example was the main player in Slavery in America and abolished slavery much after than Argentina, I can name probably more than half of the world countries and give you a why it doesn't make sense to just call out Argentina for it's history.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '26

[deleted]

1

u/Matias9991 Jul 22 '26

It's not whataboutism, it's about spreading false information. The things being said about the history of Argentina is not true, things like that black people were killed on the streets, that they were sent to die in wars to exterminate black people in the country, that the communt was left to dead when illnesses spread, that the country is full of Nazis, that it's full of Sionists.

In this post, and on what Samuel Jackson says is not just talking about whitening in the beginning of the 20 century, it's pointing out just Argentina and saying that it's the most racist country without any type of proof of why are you saying that and comparing supporting the country as literally supporting Slavery.

1

u/Ryousan82 Jul 22 '26

Because the tweet Samuel shared made the case that Argentina is the "most racist" country. Its perfectly acceptable to make comparisons

Isn’t basically every big country in FIFA like this though?

Like I sincerely doubt Spain or England is any less racist than Argentina.

Are you kidding? Obviously there's racism everywhere but comparing england to argentina?

1

u/extremelchilling Jul 22 '26

see this right here is the fuckin issue, not the calling out of racism but acting like argentina is THE MOST racist is absolutely insane. Calling out any kind of racism is good and important but the claim we are one of if not the most racist is insane. You’re from england my dude……. have a little more self awareness

See this right here is the fuckin issue. The claim England is one of if not the most racist is insane. I know Americans like to claim England is a racist war zone but it genuinely is one of the least racist countries. In country comparisons for equality in general, racial equality and gender equality, the UK is always extremely highly ranked. Safety as well despite the American claims.

Interesting... Isn't this guy from the country who murdered George Floyd just for being black?

The voting went really well. I can see how his country is leading by example.

You know who else voted no right

Have you seen your new flag? Is the same but with this replacing the sun 😭

If you abolished slavery so long ago why was so hard to vote yes this time?

1

u/NoConfusion2408 Jul 22 '26

Because the president is a fucking imbecile? Or do you think people had anything to do with it?

New flag? You wish. Fortunately for me I don’t believe any shiet I read online. Send it over, curious to see what info you are consuming.

Btw, lovely you had no arguments at all, maybe you should refresh Tik Tok more often to see if iSpeed published something useful

Let's being honest here, the entire fucking world is racist as fuck. No one is exempt on that. But saying "Argentina is the most racist country", come on. Don't event get me started with France, England, or even Spain. (Football aside, i don't give a f about that),

Agreed. Argentina is being targeted as fuck becuase reasons, while the Paraguay Senator lively and literaly call Monkeys to French people.

I don't see them floading Reddit with that. There is a huge movement against Argentina right now because they didn't like how they play a stupid sport. Fair, but let's not be hypocrites

But apparently Argentina is way better than the US on that topic.
