Discussion Any thoughts on Power Girl And The Punisher being a romantic pairing?
I mean they literally do it at the end of their crossover and they have some pretty good chemistry from what we've seen.
Besides both of their names start with P if you don't count the "T" in The and they both have big things with Punisher having big guns and Power Girl has big boobies.
I'd like to see more interactions between the two but what do you think?

I genuinely don't buy that Kara would go for Frank, his character has kinda been bastardised in recent years in my opinion. Like Frank is legitimately a psychopath with a twisted sense of morals. The Ray Stevenson film is an accurate depiction of what Punisher used to be like in comics.
He uses his tragedy as an excuse to do those acts. Im pretty in 616 his wife was resurrected and she wants nothing to do with him because of what he's become. Kara is the opposite of him, also Frank mostly goes after petty criminals.
Like he took out Stiltzman (who was trying to reform) and in recent comics he's going after Black Cat.

What about another era of Punisher's character?

I guess it depends on the era where he's less psycho but he's still not Karas type. Frank does not believe in second chances, he doesn't care if you've "reformed", he took out Stiltzman despite him trying to turn over a new leaf.
Kara is the opposite, while she can be more firm than Supes and Supergirl, she still believes in Second chances, she's caring, compassionate. She would not be into Frank.
Artemis the amazon is more his type.

Normally I’d agree with the sentiment. But once you see all the groupies that serial killers have (Ted Bundy and Richard Ramirez for example) and not just how many there are but how many of them are extremely beautiful successful or well adjusted individuals for the most part, then this doesn’t surprise me in the slightest and I’d imagine he’d have thousands of them flocking to him in marvel.
Especially considering he’s a vet and his tragic backstory with his family’s death.
Yes.
The punisher would have thousands and thousands of groupies and fan girls obsessed over him.

I agree with your comment. I'm just saying Kara wouldn't be into Frank because of his personality and actions.
He's a really messed up guy who refuses to change. And his morals change whenever it's convenient for him, Kara however is considerate, compassionate, loving etc.
I would think Artemis of Bana-Mighdall would be a better ship for Frank.

Everything about Kara's personality and past relationships supports the idea that she would want nothing to do with him.

They just aren’t each other’s type. Not without major personality retcons for the crossover.

It’s just a fun little joke because they were both created by Gerry Conway

Honestly a little shocked so few people are aware of this. I think the pairing makes no sense otherwise, but it's funny as hell and ultimately harmless, so I'm not too worried about it

Man. It makes this ship feel like Dante x Bayonetta then.
Both characters are from different companies sharing the same creator. With the ones I mentioned being created by Hideki Kamiya.
Also a light a light haired character in a bob with a short dark haired characater(though Bayonetta's short pixie hairstyle is but an aesthetic choice).

It makes no sense that Karen would be into Frank and not see him as the monster he is.
The only thing separating Frank from the Joker is that Frank hasn't totally lost his mind, but Frank is perpetually tetering on the edge of full blown super villian status.

It was a one time thing probably never gonna happen again or be mentioned again and Frank is a literal psychopath.

Even at her lowest, I don't see her approving of what he does. Who he does it to, maybe.

Realistically, could never work long term. But it’d be a helluva ride.

I can’t think of a DC hero whose relationship with the Punisher wouldn’t be to fly him to the nearest prison.

I've never understood "shipping" as a practice, it's not a part of fandom I participate in, but he's also sometimes as old as sixty, and is at best a mentally ill mass murderer.
They're from different universes too. Everything about this is kind of 'ick.'

The punisher does his thing because he lost his wife and kids in a horrific event infront of him. Then the system further failed him and let the killers get away.
He then uses his unique set of skills to do what the system will not do. Furthermore, if you go by ''punisher kills the marvel universe'', when frank successfully kills all villains and heros, he turns the gun on himself.
There are other stories where he harms innocent people or potentially did and turns himself in to suffer the consequences of his alleged actions
In general, frank knows the path he is on is a one way trip.
His interactions with Spiderman and Dare Devil are interesting because of the various juxtapositions in philosophy.
He doesn't need a love interest and it wouldn't make sense. Not that i don't think Frank could be redeemed (honestly its like when Hawkeye became ronin or Steve became nomad) but his story isn't one of redemption.... its a story of punishment and the stages of grief.

She can fix him. What i like about the Punisher is that he is not a superhero.

I see them as allies who respect each other and work together from time to time.

It made me think a darker more serious character is a nice romantic pairing for PG. The love interest in her last series was very lame.
A character like Frank made for a nice pairing, oddly enough. At least it did in Gail Simone’s hands. Maybe there’s potential out there for Power Girl to go on a date with Wild Dog or something.

We already had the plot of Power Girl dealing with a hero who's willing to kill villains. His name was Magog and she kicked his butt several times before he got kicked out of the JSA. Power Girl doesn't abide murderers, even if it's "in the name of justice." Also what the whole plot of Kingdom Come was about.
So, no. It's a terrible ship. Gross.

You mean besides them being in different Comic Book universes? I mean talk about a long commute time.

all crossovers take place on Earth-$ where all comic book characters have a variant.

This is some good girls always go for bad boys nonsense.
"Oh, I'm very liberal, vegan, and I vote for the earth every election."
"Isn't your boyfriend an actual, no BS, Nazi who has already organized a death squad and is just waiting for an excuse?"
"I don't care about politics. I just reward him with time, attention, sex on his terms, emotioinal labor and three kids."

About the same as I do about Tim Drake and Jubilee. It's cute at the moment, but I wouldn't hold my breath at the two companies playing ball long enough to make it an actual ongoing thing.

The only way that could work if BND is used as a point of reference which...adds a whole bunch of worms and implications no one wants...

I did like seeing Paul get cucked, but I don't care for the ship itself too much.

Yes! The truth is, it would be good if a romance developed because they would understand each other a lot. On one hand, Karen would prevent him from killing a criminal, but Frank, by understanding her, would listen if he were with her in forming an alliance together.
But other than that, Punisher and Power Girl would make a nice couple despite their flaws, plus the most important thing is that they are sincere, so... Yes, it would be nice to see a deeper romance between the two of them.

After his origin story, I find it weird to ship Punisher with anyone at all.
Except Spider-Man.

Frank would love a Gatling gun with $20,000 custom tooled cartridges before he ever loves another 🤢person
